President Donald Trump told reporters Friday night he “knows nothing” about the recently released emails from the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s estate.
Many of the emails mention Trump, who was friends with the disgraced financier decades ago, including one in which Epstein claimed the president “knew about the girls.”
Also Friday, Attorney General Pam Bondi assigned a prosecutor to lead the investigation into prominent Democrats’ ties to Epstein after Trump directed her to launch the probe.
“I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him,” the president wrote on Truth Social.
The president has repeatedly said the Epstein emails were meant to “deflect” from the end of the government shutdown. He’s also dubbed the controversy on the release of files related to the sex offender a “hoax.”
As well as Trump, the emails mention Bill Clinton, author Michael Wolff, and others. None of the men has been accused of wrongdoing.

Biden would have released the relevant Epstein documents if Trump was implicated, GOP Congressman says
Thursday 13 November 2025 21:05 , Kelly RissmanFlorida Republican Rep. Carlos Gimenez says he’s “confident” President Donald Trump isn’t implicated in the Epstein Files.
“If there was something in there that implicated President Trump, the Biden administration would've shown it to us when they had control of the files,” he told CNN Thursday.
Pressed as to why the White House has been fighting against the documents’ release, the Congressman said: “I don't know why there's a fight but, you know, the American people need to know the truth, whatever it is and whoever it is.”
“I’m pretty confident — I’m very confident— that the president is not implicated in this. Because if he was, the Biden administration would’ve let us know that a long time ago,” he added.
Lawmakers question Trump's relationship with Epstein amid email tranche
Thursday 13 November 2025 21:15 , Kelly RissmanMembers of Congress have been asking questions about Donald Trump’s knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s behavior after the most recent batch of records were made public.
Trump has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
“Why would Trump—who allegedly knew of Epstein’s crimes—’spend hours’ at a pedophile’s house with an underage victim? I think we all know the answer,” Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Jim McGovern wrote in a social media post.
“With @Rep_Grijalva sworn in, we're one step closer to justice for the brave survivors of Epstein's abuse network. We will have a vote. Finally. Why did the President pull out all the stops to block the release of these files?” Connecticut Democratic Rep. John Larson remarked. “What is he trying to hide? Let the truth hatch out.”
Stunning emails reveal what Epstein thought about Trump
Thursday 13 November 2025 21:25 , Kelly RissmanA newly released batch of Jeffrey Epstein's private emails shared with Congress by the sex offender’s estate claimed that Donald Trump “knew about the girls.”
The previously undisclosed emails, published Wednesday by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, date from 2011 to 2019. Republicans on the committee then released thousands of other messages, including emails to and from Epstein and others in his circle, including his attorneys, journalists, author Michael Wolff, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and Deepak Chopra, among many others.
Trump is repeatedly mentioned in messages to and from Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019. There also is correspondence from his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 on sex trafficking charges.

Americans should 'know the devil they decided to pick,' Texas Democrat says
Thursday 13 November 2025 21:35 , Kelly RissmanTexas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett demands heightened transparency from the Justice Department after the latest batch of emails were made public.
“We don’t know what the DOJ has nor what it is that the DOJ potentially was trying to do,” Crockett told CNN Tuesday.
“We need these files to be released. We are looking for transparency,” she said.
Seemingly taking aim at Trump, Crockett said: "If people decide that they want to continue to support person who may be a pedophile himself or a person who obviously is covering for pedophiles, that's on them. But they should at least know the devil they decided to pick."
Trump has not been accused of wrongdoing.
Epstein survivor demands accountability and justice
Thursday 13 November 2025 21:45 , Kelly RissmanThe newly released emails “speak for themselves,” Epstein survivor Danielle Bensky told CNN.
“Survivors have been very clear and consistent about our messaging: that anyone that performs or anybody that has done any wrongdoing...should face accountability. They should be brought to justice,” she said.
“I think the only way we’re ever going to be able to do that is by releasing all of the files from the government.”
Trump goes silent on Truth Social after posting about 'Jeffrey Epstein Hoax'
Thursday 13 November 2025 22:01 , Rachel DobkinIt’s been over a day since President Donald Trump, who typically has a frequent social media presence, posted on Truth Social.
The last post addresses the ongoing controversy surrounding government files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which Trump has called a “hoax.”
“The Democrats are using the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax to try and deflect from their massive failures, in particular, their most recent one — THE SHUTDOWN!” Trump wrote on Wednesday shortly before 2:40 p.m. ET.

“ My people want to know who else, if anyone, did Epstein traffic young women to? And if they were punished, how were they punished? And if they weren't punished, why?
Now, President Trump has turned that issue over to Attorney General Bondi. I don't know how she is going to answer that question for the American people without releasing all the records,” Kennedy said.

Ghislaine Maxwell enjoys a bathroom break that fellow inmates in her Texas Club Fed prison don’t get
Thursday 13 November 2025 22:40 , Rhian LubinGhislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking co-conspirator, is reportedly receiving “special privileges” in prison not extended to her fellow inmates.
While Maxwell’s inmates at the cushy Texas prison have to get by with two rolls of toilet paper per week, the disgraced British socialite “is given as much toilet paper as she needs,” according to CNN, which cited sources familiar with her life behind bars.
She was transferred to the low-security federal prison camp in Bryan — commonly referred to as a ‘Club Fed’ incarceration — in August after complying with Justice Department officials who interviewed her following political and public pressure on the Trump administration.
The scandal has reared its head again this week after the House Oversight Committee dropped more than 20,000 documents, containing emails from Epstein, Maxwell and other associates, which mentioned President Donald Trump. He has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

What does the House bill on the Epstein files actually do?
Friday 14 November 2025 00:00 , Rachel DobkinThe House will soon vote on a bill to compel the Justice Department to release all files and communications related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
While information about Epstein’s victims or pending federal investigations would be allowed to be redacted, the DOJ cannot censor information due to “embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity, including to any government official, public figure, or foreign dignitary,” the Associated Press reported.
The bill will also release information about Epstein’s death investigation after he died by suicide in his jail cell in 2019.

When asked whether the Senate would put the bill on the floor if it passed the House, Thune said, “I can’t comment on that at this point,” the Associated Press reported.
He said of the DOJ: “I trust them in terms of having the confidence that they’ll get as much information out there as possible in a way that protects the rights of the victims.”
Epstein's ex-girlfriend says Republicans have come to 'some moral clarity'
Friday 14 November 2025 01:20 , Rachel DobkinStacey Williams, a former model and ex-girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein, has said Republicans have come to “some moral clarity” for supporting the release of government files related to the late convicted sex offender.
“I’ve never understood the role of legislative officials in protecting pedophiles. I didn't think that was part of the job criteria, so it's been very confusing to me,” Williams told CNN Thursday night. “But if some of them are finally arriving at some moral clarity, that's a good thing. Transparency is critical.”
Republican Representatives Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Nancy Mace of South Carolina, along with House Democrats, helped force a vote on a bill to release the Epstein files. Other GOP members are now likely to support the bill.

“ I was quite shocked to hear the White House say yesterday that they're being fully transparent after dragging a member of Congress there to get her to pull back her vote on releasing the Epstein files,” Williams told CNN Thursday night. “It's condescending to the American people, and it is cruel and damaging to the Epstein survivors.”
Top Trump administration officials met in the White House Situation Room earlier Wednesday with Boebert, a Colorado Republican who signed a discharge petition to force a House vote on the Epstein files’ release amid a pressure campaign from President Donald Trump, The New York Times reported.

White House bashed The View co-host who spoke out about the Epstein controversy
Friday 14 November 2025 02:40 , Rachel DobkinThe White House has bashed The View co-host Ana Navarro, who spoke out about the ongoing controversy surrounding the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Earlier Thursday, Navarro said, “I don't know why we're getting sucked up into a political partisan fight about this. This is about right and wrong.”
"We have failed the victims of Jeffrey Epstein," she said. "We as a country, our legal system, our institutions, our leaders, we've failed those victims time and time again."
The Trump administration has been criticized for its handling of government files related to Epstein.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson said, “Like all TDS liberals, Ana only cares about the Epstein files because she thinks she can weaponize it against President Trump.”
TDS appears to mean Trump Derangement Syndrome.
"Liberal outlets are desperately trying to use this Democrat distraction to talk about anything other than Democrats getting utterly defeated by President Trump in the [government] shutdown fight," Jackson added.
Vance flatters Trump and blames Biden for affordability crisis in Fox News interview which avoids any mention of Epstein
Friday 14 November 2025 03:19 , Josh MarcusVice President JD Vance in a Fox News interview on Thursday blamed the Biden administration and undocumented immigrants for ongoing issues with the economy, which has struggled with continued inflation and record-low rates of first-time home buyers.
During the sit-down with Sean Hannity, Vance was not asked any questions about the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein scandal plaguing the White House.
Instead, Vance focused on how the U.S. had “inherited this terrible inflation crisis from the Biden administration” and said it would take more time for the full impact of the Trump economic agenda to kick in, comparing the GOP’s moves so far to trees that will slowly begin bearing fruit.
"A lot of young people are saying, 'Housing is way too expensive,’” Vance said. “Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who are taking houses that ought, by right, go to American citizens...We're also getting all of those illegal aliens out of our country and you’re already see it start to pay some dividends.”

Will Trump sign a bill to release the Epstein files?
Friday 14 November 2025 03:40 , Rachel DobkinEven if the House and the Senate pass a bill to force the Justice Department to release all files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, it still has to go through President Donald Trump.
It’s highly unlikely that Trump will sign such a bill given that his administration already has the power to release the files and his opposition to House members’ push to compel the DOJ to release them.
On Wednesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “The Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown, and so many other subjects. Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap.”

How Trump could still prevent release of Epstein files
Friday 14 November 2025 07:00 , James C. ReynoldsA significant cache of Jeffrey Epstein’s email exchanges was released on Wednesday, piling yet more pressure on the Trump administration for greater transparency and widening a growing rift in MAGA’s base.
Three exchanges were initially shared by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, containing correspondence between the financier, his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and the journalist Michael Wolff. In one, Epstein alleged that Trump “knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”
Subsequently, House Republicans released a colossal body of emails attributed to Epstein in an effort to counter what they said was a Democratic effort to “cherry-pick documents.” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the emails prove “absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong.”
The release of the documents has amplified calls to release the so-called Epstein files. A petition forcing a vote on the release of more files gathered enough signatures to move forward on Wednesday. Still, skepticism remains around what it could realistically produce

Friday 14 November 2025 09:00 , Joe SommerladThe president only posted twice on Truth Social yesterday and neither one was about the email scandal.
Instead, he offered two book recommendations as alternative reading material: one from Fox News contributor and former wrestler George “Tyrus” Murdoch (a repost from September 15) for which he has written the foreword and another by former FBI agent Nicole Parker.

Everything you need to know about the latest Epstein files controversy
Friday 14 November 2025 09:15 , Joe Sommerlad- Newly-released emails obtained by the House Oversight Committee from the estate of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have once more placed President Donald Trump under intense scrutiny.
- In one of the messages, Epstein tells longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell that Trump “spent hours” at his home with one of the sex trafficker’s victims. In others, the president is described in highly unflattering terms by Epstein.
- Although the president has not been accused of any wrongdoing and has denied prior knowledge of Epstein’s crimes, the two men were friends in New York and Florida and the 1990s and early 2000s, an association Trump says ended when he kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago for poaching his staff.
- The White House and the president’s conservative allies have insisted the email release is a Democrat “hoax” and “false narrative” but Trump is under growing pressure to release the Justice Department’s files on Epstein.
- The House of Representatives is set to hold a floor vote on the issue next week.
Statue of Trump and Epstein holding hands reappears in DC
Friday 14 November 2025 09:35 , Joe SommerladA 12-foot-tall statue of the president and Jeffrey Epstein holding hands has reappeared once again in Washington, D.C., after being torn down by federal authorities twice already.
The statue, which drew national attention after being removed from the National Mall, has popped up yet again, this time outside the Busboys and Poets restaurant in the U Street Corridor.
Mike Bedigan and John Bowden have more.

Epstein kept close eye on Trump, emails suggest
Friday 14 November 2025 09:50 , Joe SommerladLong after their friendship ended (in the president’s telling), Epstein appears to have kept close tabs on Trump, this week’s email release reveals.
A message sent to the financier by his personal pilot Larry Visoski on November 25 2016, for instance, reports: “Trump is still scheduled to depart Sunday between 4 and 6 pm,, Let me know if we are firm for wheels up Saturday at 6pm still?”
“Will let you know tomorrow morning,” Epstein replied.
Other emails tracked Trump’s movements in a more general way.
A message signed by Epstein’s accountant Richard Kahn sent on December 2 2017 informs him:“Trump in our neighborhood today. Looks like he is going to 740 Park for a fundraiser.”
Another from a sender whose name is redacted informs Epstein that he has arrived at his home and jokes: “[I’m] at the door but i will wait for my time. . i dont want to come early to find trump in your house.”

Vance blames Biden for economy in Fox interview, avoiding Epstein talk
Friday 14 November 2025 10:10 , Joe SommerladVice President JD Vance blamed the Biden administration and undocumented immigrants for ongoing issues with the U.S. economy in a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity Thursday night but was not asked any questions about the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein scandal plaguing the White House.
Instead, he focused on how the U.S. had “inherited this terrible inflation crisis from the Biden administration” and said it would take more time for the full impact of the Trump administration’s economic agenda to kick in, comparing moves such as cutting taxes and pushing worldwide tariffs to trees that will eventually begin bearing fruit.

Trump approval takes worst nose-dive yet with staggering losses among Republicans and a group key to his 2024 win
Friday 14 November 2025 10:50 , Joe SommerladTen months into his first term and less than a year before the crucial midterm elections, Americans are giving the president awful marks on his job performance.
According to a new poll from the Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, just a third of respondents – only 33 percent – said they approve of how Trump is managing the federal government.
That’s a 10 percent drop from the number of Americans who said they approved of his management in a similar survey taken in March.
The survey of 1,143 adults, conducted from November 6 to November 10, also found that Trump’s approval rating among self-identified Republicans has taken a hit amid what was the longest government shutdown in history.
Andrew Feinberg and Eric Garcia take a closer look.

Megyn Kelly slammed for questioning if Jeffrey Epstein was really a pedophile
Friday 14 November 2025 11:30 , Joe SommerladThis clip of the conservative commentator has been causing a stir online, for obvious reasons:
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old." pic.twitter.com/a7wmT3BRJU

One of the 'biggest campaigns of secrecy,' Epstein survivors' attorney said of Trump
Friday 14 November 2025 13:00 , Kelly RissmanAn attorney, who represents several survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, said every time Trump pushes against the release of the Epstein files, it looks “suspicious.”
The president has not been accused of wrongdoing.
“This has been one of the... biggest campaigns of secrecy I’ve ever seen,” lawyer Arick Fudali told MSNBC.
“This is such a unique issue because I think every single human in the United States of America wants these files released except Donald Trump. I mean this is the ultimate bipartisan issue,” Fudali, a partner and managing attorney at the Bloom Firm, said.
Trump is “going way out of his way, prolonging this, having secret meetings with Lauren Boebert...he’s doing everything in his power to keep these files private,” he added.
“The more he does that, the more effort is put forth — despite bipartisan support to release them — the more suspicious it becomes,” the lawyer said.
Trump once again dubs the latest tranche of emails a 'hoax'
Friday 14 November 2025 13:10 , Kelly RissmanPresident Donald Trump reposted a clip of Fox News host Jesse Watters saying that his team “can’t find anything — anything — nailing Trump.”
On Truth Social, Trump wrote alongside the clip: "THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN HOAX."
To distract from the shutdown, Democrats are “launching a smear campaign disguised as a bombshell: the Jeffrey Epstein emails,” Watters said.
The Fox News host echoed Trump’s take from the other day, when the president posted on Truth Social: “The Democrats are using the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax to try and deflect from their massive failures, in particular, their most recent one — THE SHUTDOWN!”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also posted on X that the latest release was “another Democrat + Mainstream Media hoax” meant to “distract from the President's wins.”
Epstein survivor has hope that discharge petition will 'move forward'
Friday 14 November 2025 13:20 , Kelly RissmanAnnie Farmer, a survivor of Epstein’s abuse, challenged claims that the discharge petition wouldn’t advance any further.
"It’s important to note that so many things that are unlikely have happened when it comes to this case. It was very unlikely that we would get the signatures we needed for this discharge petition. And here we are. It was very unlikely that Andrew would no longer be a prince. And that's happened,” Farmer told CNN.
“For years, people said it was unlikely that anyone would care or know about the crimes of Epstein and his coconspirators and people clearly do,” she said.
“I really believe that...people are going to demand that this move forward and I think it’s very likely that it’s going to happen.”
The discharge petition reached the necessary 218 signatures this week; the House will take a vote on whether to release the files next week.
Trump accuser calls White House's claims about transparency 'damaging to survivors'
Friday 14 November 2025 13:30 , Kelly RissmanStacey Williams, Jeffrey Epstein’s former girlfriend who alleged Donald Trump groped her in 1993, told CNN that she was “quite shocked” to hear the White House is being fully “transparent” after officials met with Rep. Lauren Boebert in the White House Situation Room.
Trump has denied the allegations against him.
"It's condescending to the American people, and it is cruel and damaging to the Epstein survivors,” Williams said.
She was then asked about an email that Epstein sent to a reporter, writing: "my 20 year old girlfriend in 93 ,, that after two years I gave to donald.”
The language of this email “screams about the mindset of these men. The same two men who did what they did to me when Jeffrey Epstein walked me into Donald Trump’s office to be groped by him.”
“Clearly, we are these objects, these trophies, and it’s deeply misogynistic. It’s horrifying.”
'Massive cover-up': Democratic Congressman slams Trump's handling of the Epstein Files
Friday 14 November 2025 13:40 , Kelly RissmanNew York Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman said he believes that the latest tranche of emails “confirms that those DOJ Epstein Files are going to be full of references to Donald Trump.”
“Maybe it’s benign. Maybe it’s his knowledge of it. Maybe it’s more,” he told CNN.
“There is no question that what we have seen over the last six months is a massive cover-up effort by Donald Trump to prevent the release of the DOJ's Epstein files as opposed to these files from the estate.”
Trump did not send or receive any of the emails and has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
ANALYSIS: As Epstein consumes the White House, Republicans are starting to think twice about absolute loyalty to Trump
Friday 14 November 2025 13:50 , Kelly RissmanDoes MAGA have a future that isn’t controlled by Donald Trump?
If this week was any indication, the answer is “yes”. And Trump himself risks the possibility of those voters moving on.
Since practically the first day he took office in 2017, Donald Trump owned the Republican Party. There was little room for dissent against a man who’d won office on the premise that he was the lone Republican who meant what he said and who promised to shake up a political establishment which, in his depictions, was hopelessly corrupt and on top of that: deeply, profoundly inept.
But the times, they are a changin’.
As Capitol Hill prepared to end the longest shutdown in U.S. history this week, the House Oversight Committee was quietly building a bomb. On Wednesday, as Donald Trump eagerly awaited the end of a minor political saga he’d blamed for his party’s crushing defeat in off-year elections, that bomb detonated.
Check out John Bowden’s analysis.

'Huge miscalculation': Marjorie Taylor Greene on Trump's opposition to releasing the files
Friday 14 November 2025 14:20 , Kelly RissmanGeorgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said she “doesn’t understand” Donald Trump’s pushback against releasing the Epstein Files.
“This is information that has needed to come out for a very long time. And the American people have demanded it,” she told CBS Mornings.
“The American people deserve to see transparency from their government. Rich, powerful people should not be protected. That is completely wrong,” Greene said.
“And it’s a message to victims everywhere...that the government will not protect the predators, that we will work hard to protect the victims.”
She emphasized that survivors and their attorney told her that Trump did nothing wrong. He has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
Why Trump has been opposed to the release of the files is “something I don’t understand,” she said. “I think it’s a huge miscalculation.”
Greene was one of four Republicans to sign the discharge petition.
'Don't waste your time with Trump': President urges public to ask questions of others mentioned in emails
Friday 14 November 2025 14:40 , Kelly RissmanPresident Donald Trump once again branded the latest release of emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate a “hoax.”
“The Democrats are doing everything in their withering power to push the Epstein Hoax again, despite the DOJ releasing 50,000 pages of documents, in order to deflect from all of their bad policies and losses, especially the SHUTDOWN EMBARRASSMENT, where their party is in total disarray, and has no idea what to do,” he wrote on Truth Social Friday morning.
“Some Weak Republicans have fallen into their clutches because they are soft and foolish. Epstein was a Democrat, and he is the Democrat’s problem, not the Republican’s problem!” the president continued.
He then pointed to other men who once associated with Epstein, urging the public to not “waste your time with Trump,” referring to himself in the third person.
“Ask Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, and Larry Sommers about Epstein, they know all about him, don’t waste your time with Trump. I have a Country to run!”
If Trump were implicated, Biden would have released Epstein files, some GOP say
Friday 14 November 2025 14:54 , Kelly RissmanSeveral Republicans have suggested that if Donald Trump were implicated in the Epstein Files, the Biden administration would have already released them.
Trump has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
"My gut feeling is that if there is something in there about Donald Trump, the Biden DOJ would've released it,” Maryland GOP Rep. Andy Harris told NewsMax. “This is just all for show.”
Florida GOP Rep. Carlos Gimenez similarly told CNN: “I’m very confident that the president is not implicated in this and that if he was, the Biden administration would have let us know that a long time ago.”
Megyn Kelly slammed for questioning if Jeffrey Epstein was really a pedophile: ‘He was into the barely legal type’
Friday 14 November 2025 15:05 , Kelly RissmanMegyn Kelly is being slammed for questioning whether Jeffrey Epstein was even a pedophile, even though the disgraced financier was convicted on child sex offences.
Kelly’s critics have torn into her comments on social media, with some pointing to an interview she gave in 2018 in which she appeared to have a very different view.
While interviewing a victim of alleged abuse in 2018 on her show Megyn Kelly TODAY, the broadcaster went to great lengths to point out that “the age of consent in California is 18,” which means that “there’s no consenting for a 14 or even a 17-year-old in these circumstances.”
However, social media users have shredded a new claim former Fox News star made on The Megyn Kelly Show. On the November 13 episode of her show, she claimed that a friend of hers, with an inside view of the Epstein case, believed that Jeffrey Epstein was “not a pedophile.”
Owen Scott has the story.

Some Republican lawmakers say they don't understand Trump's pushback on releasing the Epstein Files
Friday 14 November 2025 15:15 , Kelly RissmanWhen pressed by news anchors as to why Donald Trump has been opposing the release of the Epstein Files, some Republicans in Congress have said they don’t know why.
Trump has not been accused of any wrongdoing but his name appeared in numerous emails sent by Epstein.
Why Trump has been opposed to the release of the files is “something I don’t understand,” Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told CBS Mornings Friday. “I think it’s a huge miscalculation.”
Asked why the White House is “fighting” to not release the files, Florida Rep. Carlos Gimenez similarly told CNN this week: “I don’t know why there’s a fight but the American people need to know the truth.”
Which GOP lawmakers have said they would vote to release the Epstein Files?
Friday 14 November 2025 15:20 , Kelly RissmanJust four Republicans signed the discharge petition to force a vote to release the Epstein Files. Now that the petition garnered the necessary 218 signatures, the House will vote on whether to release the records next week.
A growing number of Republicans have said they would vote in favor of it:
- Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon told CNN: “If this comes on the floor, I will vote for it.”
- Ohio Rep. Warren Davidson said he plans to support it.
Others have said they are considering it:
- Florida Rep. Maria Salazar told CNN: “I’m a Florida girl and I have two daughters so I’m thinking...We do need to know everything about Epstein.”
- Arizona Rep. Eli Crane said: “I think I would” vote for it.

IN FOCUS: In Trump’s ‘Central Casting’ world, do Democrats need to get ‘hot’ to win?
Friday 14 November 2025 15:30 , Kelly RissmanIn less than a year, American voters will choose 48 governors, 435 members of the House of Representatives and 33 senators — and strategists are warning Democrats to look in the mirror. Literally.
The problem, many political consultants say, is that compared to Trump’s “central casting” cabinet and the younger-skewing GOP, the most prominent Democratic messengers might not be attractive, or young enough to capture the attention of 2026 voters.
Not long ago, whether a given party’s politicians were “hot” or not wasn’t much of a concern outside gossip columns or glossy magazine spreads, and Democrats were able to command the latter with ease. These days though, Trump calls the nation the ‘hottest anywhere’ as a normal course and relishes talking about how attractive people are as a push back to what he sees as woke indoctrination.
Andrew Feinberg reports.

Jeffries says sunlight is the 'best disinfectant' while predicting House will pass Epstein Files vote
Friday 14 November 2025 15:40 , Kelly RissmanHouse Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries predicted that the House’s vote next week on the Epstein Files will “pass decisively.”
"It’s my expectation that the legislation will pass, potentially pass decisively. Democrats in the House, of course, will strongly support it. We believe in transparency. We believe it’s been far too long that this information has been hidden from the American people,” the New York Democrat told CNN News Central.
“And it’s extraordinary that rather than focus on trying to actually extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits, drive down the high cost of living, or make life better for the American people, Donald Trump and his folks have spent this week pressuring Republicans not to back the effort to release these Jeffrey Epstein files to the American people,” Jeffries continued.
“We’ve made clear we also need to address the rampant corruption that we see in Washington, D.C., coming out of the Trump administration and enabled repeatedly by Donald Trump’s sycophants in the House Republican conference. And as part of that, transparency, sunlight, of course, is the best disinfectant,” he said, adding that the American people deserve the truth.
Trump says to 'stay tuned' as he orders AG to investigate Democrats with ties to Epstein
Friday 14 November 2025 16:00 , Kelly RissmanPresident Donald Trump continued his posting spree on Truth Social Friday, this time announcing that he plans to ask Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Epstein’s relationships with several high-profile figures and institutions.
"Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans, to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN, and all of their other failures, I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him,” he wrote.
“This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats. Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his ‘Island.’ Stay tuned!!!"
'Very disrespectful': Survivor's family slam administration after White House IDs her in emails
Friday 14 November 2025 16:10 , Kelly RissmanThe family of Virginia Giuffre, an Epstein survivor who died by suicide in April, spoke out after White House officials identified Giuffre as the redacted name in one of Epstein’s emails that mentioned Donald Trump.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that “the ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever.”
“What another slap in the face from this administration,” Amanda Roberts, Giuffre’s sister-in-law, told MSNBC. “It is just so disgraceful. They have had no regard for a family that is grieving a loss that they will never recover from. We will never recover from this loss.”
“And there is a reason names are redacted,” she said, choking up.
A tearful Sky Roberts, Giuffre’s brother, said: “I don’t think any survivor, including my sister, should be used as a political toy.”
“It felt very disrespectful for them to unredact her name when she’s not here to speak for herself,” he added.

Friday 14 November 2025 16:30 , Kelly RissmanOne message in the latest tranche of emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate suggests that Epstein was at Trump Tower, just days after Donald Trump won his first presidential election.
On November 13, 2016, someone asked Epstein if he was “still in Paris.”
The disgraced financier replied: “Trump Tower.”
Trump won the presidential election on November 8, 2016. He has not been accused of wrongdoing and has claimed that their friendship ended in the early 2000s when he kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago for poaching staff.
GOP lawmaker thinks Trump's order to Bondi was not 'appropriate'
Friday 14 November 2025 16:40 , Kelly RissmanPresident Donald Trump announced on Truth Social Friday that he plans to ask Attorney General Pam Bond and the DOJ “to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman” and others.
When asked what he makes about Trump’s call for another Epstein investigation targeting Democrats, Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon told CNN: “We should leave the DOJ and make them as independent as we can.”
“When the president gives orders to Pam Bondi and our law enforcement arms of the federal government, it...undercuts the credibility of our law enforcement,” the Republican lawmaker added.
Law enforcement should get involved “not because there’s pressure from the White House or the president,” he said. “I don't think it's appropriate for him to do it."
“All it does it taint our legal system,” Bacon continued.
Model turned Epstein girlfriend says she was delivered to Trump to be ‘groped’
Friday 14 November 2025 16:50 , Kelly RissmanAn ex-girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein said she was delivered to President Donald Trump by the late sex offender to be “groped.”
Stacey Williams, a former swimsuit model, appeared on CNN on Thursday after thousands of the convicted sex offender’s private emails were published by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, reigniting public scrutiny into the Epstein controversy.
Williams, who dated Epstein in the 1990s, was asked for her reaction to one particular email in which the disgraced financier boasted he “gave” one of his girlfriends to Trump in 1993.
“It screams about, you know, the mindset of these men,” Williams said. “You know, the same two men who did what they did to me when Jeffrey Epstein walked me into Donald Trump’s office to be groped by him. Clearly we are these objects, these trophies, and it’s deeply misogynistic. It’s horrifying.”

Democrats accuse Trump administration of a 'cover-up' as it opposes to release Epstein Files
Friday 14 November 2025 17:03 , Kelly RissmanSeveral Democrats have called the president’s opposition to the release of the Epstein Files a “cover-up.”
In a Truth Social post Friday, Donald Trump claimed Jeffrey Epstein was the “Democrats’ problem” as he told the attorney general to investigate the disgraced financier’s ties to several high-profile Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton.
“You best believe if Epstein was ‘the Democrat’s problem,’ then the files would have already been released. This is a Trump cover-up,” Arizona Rep. Yassamin Ansari wrote on X Friday.
Similarly, New York Rep. Dan Goldman similarly told CNN’s Anderson Cooper Thursday: “There is no question that what we have seen over the last six months is a massive cover up effort by Donald Trump to prevent the release of the DOJ's Epstein files.”
Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin wrote on X: “Republicans are scrambling to cover up the Epstein file, but we say anyone involved in Epstein's billion-dollar child sex trafficking ring must be brought to justice—whether Republicans, Democrats or, yes, even presidents.”
Trump speaks out days after Epstein email bombshells and blames ‘weak Republicans’ who fell for ‘hoax’
Friday 14 November 2025 17:10 , Kelly RissmanPresident Donald Trump has broken his silence after days of dodging reporter questions over the bombshell emails where deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein said the president “knew about the girls” he and co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell were abusing and revealed that Trump spent “hours” at his home with one of his victims.
Writing on Truth Social, Trump accused Democrats in Congress of “doing everything in their withering power” to “push” what he called “the Epstein Hoax” as a distraction from “all of their bad policies and losses.”
Trump also hit out at “weak Republicans” who he described as having “fallen into their clutches because they are soft and foolish” and complained that the demand for his administration to release case files from the FBI investigation into the late sex offender should be directed at a group of Democratic figures who have no role in the federal government.

Friday 14 November 2025 17:20 , Kelly RissmanDonald Trump and the White House have repeatedly called the Epstein Files a “hoax.”
Trump has not been accused of wrongdoing but was named in a number of emails from Epstein’s estate that the House Oversight Committee made public this week.
In one exchange, Epstein claims Trump “knew about the girls.”
Pointing to this message, South Carolina Democratic James Clyburn wrote on X: “People are talking about the ‘Jeffrey Epstein Story’ because Americans want answers about Trump’s connection to Epstein. This ain’t no ‘hoax.’”
New documents show Trump knew about Epstein’s sex trafficking of girls. Epstein said Trump spent hours at his house with a victim.

Everything Trump has said about Epstein since the emails were released Wednesday
Friday 14 November 2025 17:34 , Kelly RissmanPresident Donald Trump has posted several on his Truth Social account since the House Oversight Committee released a tranche of emails from Epstein’s estate on Wednesday, although he’s refused to take questions from reporters for days.
Here’s what he’s posted.
Wednesday:
“The Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown, and so many other subjects. Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap. The Democrats cost our Country $1.5 Trillion Dollars with their recent antics of viciously closing our Country, while at the same time putting many at risk — and they should pay a fair price. There should be no deflections to Epstein or anything else, and any Republicans involved should be focused only on opening up our Country, and fixing the massive damage caused by the Democrats!” Trump said.
He later wrote: “In other words, the Democrats are using the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax to try and deflect from their massive failures, in particular, their most recent one — THE SHUTDOWN!”
Thursday:
No posts related to Epstein.
Friday:
“THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN HOAX,” he wrote alongside a clip of Fox News host Jesse Watters claiming the network couldn’t find “anything nailing Trump”
“The Democrats are doing everything in their withering power to push the Epstein Hoax again, despite the DOJ releasing 50,000 pages of documents, in order to deflect from all of their bad policies and losses, especially the SHUTDOWN EMBARRASSMENT, where their party is in total disarray, and has no idea what to do. Some Weak Republicans have fallen into their clutches because they are soft and foolish. Epstein was a Democrat, and he is the Democrat’s problem, not the Republican’s problem! Ask Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, and Larry Summers about Epstein, they know all about him, don’t waste your time with Trump. I have a Country to run!” the president said an hour later.
Most recently, Trump remarked that he planned to order the attorney general to investigate certain Democrats linked to Epstein: “Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans, to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN, and all of their other failures, I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him. This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats. Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his ‘Island.’ Stay tuned!!!”
Tucker Carlson claims Patel FBI and Bondi DOJ ‘doesn’t want us to know’ truth about ‘right wing’ Trump shooter Crooks
Friday 14 November 2025 17:45 , Kelly RissmanMore than a year after Thomas Crooks opened fire on Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, one of the most influential figures in conservative media says Trump’s hand-picked Justice Department leaders are concealing important information about how the 20-year-old would-be assassin got within a rifle’s distance of a former president — and what motivated him to do so.
In an episode of his eponymous podcast released on Friday, Carlson took aim at current FBI Director Kash Patel, his predecessor Christopher Wray, and Patel deputy (and ex-Secret Service agent) Dan Bongino, each of whom he accuses of concealing key facts about Crooks and the security failures that led to him coming within “a quarter-inch” of making what would’ve been a fatal head-shot on Trump.
He also broadly impugned the Department of Justice, headed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, which has oversight over the FBI.
Andrew Feinberg has the story.

Democratic Senator urges Thune to take a vote on Epstein Files next week
Friday 14 November 2025 18:00 , Kelly RissmanNevada Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen urged Senate Majority Leader John Thune to schedule a vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act if the House passes it next week, which it seems poised to do.
"The House of Representatives has now acted decisively to take a major step toward ensuring that the Epstein records are released and can be fully examined," Rosen wrote in the letter, obtained by the HuffPost.
"Once their legislation – now required to receive a vote – passes the House with a simple majority vote next week, the Senate must match this effort and schedule prompt floor consideration of the bill to uphold our constitutional duty of oversight and to preserve public trust."
Democratic Senator asks about alleged photos of Trump and 'girls in bikinis'
Friday 14 November 2025 18:10 , Kelly RissmanA Democratic Senator questioned an email sent by Jeffrey Epstein in which he offered to send a reporter photos “of donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen.”
Trump has not been accused of any wrongdoing and it’s not clear if Epstein actually possessed those images.
Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse asked Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche: “Wait- if DOJ is willing to say what is not in the Epstein files, why couldn’t AG Bondi tell me photos of Trump with half-naked young women are not in the files?”

He replied to Blanche’s post, which read: “When I interviewed Maxwell, law enforcement didn’t have the materials Epstein’s estate hid for years and only just provided to Congress.”
Democrats brush off Trump's remarks about Epstein emails being a 'hoax'
Friday 14 November 2025 18:20 , Kelly RissmanDemocrats dismiss Donald Trump’s comments that labeled the latest tranche of released emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate a “hoax.”
“You don’t spend hours war-planning in the Situation Room on a ‘hoax,’” Massachusetts Rep. Jim McGovern tweeted.
“Trump sure is spending a lot of personal time on something he called a Democratic hoax… wonder why!” Arizona Rep. Yassamin Ansari posted.
What have former Trump officials said about the handling of the Epstein Files?
Friday 14 November 2025 18:30 , Kelly RissmanSeveral Trump officials from President Donald Trump’s first administration have been critical of the second administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein Files.
Olivia Troye, who served as the Homeland Security and Counterterrorism adviser to Mike Pence, wrote: “Trump has one playbook: When truth threatens him, he calls it a ‘hoax.’”
“He did it with Russia, Ukraine, COVID, the 2020 election, E. Jean Carroll, and now 20,000+ emails, ‘The Jeffrey Epstein Hoax.’ If it’s all a hoax, why did real people suffer?” Troye added.
Sarah Matthews, the former White House Deputy Press Secretary, replied to a tweet from JD Vance in 2021 that read: “Remember when we learned that our wealthiest and most powerful people were connected to a guy who ran a literal child sex trafficking ring? And then that guy died mysteriously in a jail? And now we just don't talk about it.”
Matthews wrote Thursday: “Remember the Trump officials who spent years talking about the Epstein files? And now that they're in power they don't want to talk about it. Hmm weird.”
Maxwell is not working on a commutation application, lawyer says
Friday 14 November 2025 18:45 , Kelly RissmanGhislaine Maxwell did not request a pardon, her attorney Leah Saffian said in a statement Friday.
“Ms. Maxwell has not requested a commutation - or made a Pardon – application to the second Trump Administration. Prior to any such application a Prisoner needs to demonstrate that all possible avenues of appeal have been exhausted,” the lawyer said.
The statement was in response to a letter from Maryland Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin last week that claimed Maxwell is “preparing a ‘Commutation Application’ for the Trump Administration to review.”
ANALYSIS: Trump now faces the worst possible fate in polling: Becoming Joe Biden
Friday 14 November 2025 19:00 , Kelly RissmanOn Friday morning, President Donald Trump raged about the state of the economy, falsely stating that prices are falling.
“Cost, and INFLATION, were far higher under the Sleepy Joe Biden Administration, than they are now. In fact, costs under the TRUMP ADMINISTRATION are tumbling down, helped greatly by gasoline and ENERGY. Affordability is a lie when used by the Dems. It is a complete CON JOB. Thanksgiving costs are 25% lower this year than last, under Crooked Joe! We are the Party of Affordability!”
Of course, this is objectively not true. In September’s Consumer Price Index report, which was the last full measure of inflation before the government shutdown began, showed inflation ticked up 0.3 percent.
But Trump is trying to commit an act of political acrobatics after Democrats swept every major election last week based on one word: affordability, which Trump has criticized. And it reveals that Trump is now facing the same doom loop on inflation that his predecessor Joe Biden faced that ultimately doomed his presidency.

Workers at the prison camp where Maxwell is serving time fired, attorney says
Friday 14 November 2025 19:10 , Kelly RissmanEmployees at the federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas, where Ghislaine Maxwell was transferred earlier this year, have been fired, her attorney said.
“There have been appropriate consequences already for employees at Federal Prison Camp Bryan. They have been terminated for improper, unauthorised access to the email system used by the Federal Bureau of Prisons to allow inmates to communicate with the outside world,” Leah Saffian said in a statement.
The terminations come after Maryland Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin sent a letter last week detailing “whistleblower information” that suggested prison camp staff have been “waiting on Ms. Maxwell hand and foot.”
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in a scheme to sexually exploit and abuse multiple minor girls with Jeffrey Epstein.
House Oversight Democrat says Trump is 'panicked' after Epstein emails' release
Friday 14 November 2025 19:20 , Kelly RissmanRobert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, claimed Trump is now “panicked and desperate” after the panel made public several emails from Epstein’s state that mention Trump earlier this week.
“Our Oversight investigation has Donald Trump panicked and desperate. He is trying to deflect from serious new questions we have about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,” Garcia said.
“The President has not explained why he won't release the files to the American people.”

Survivors write letter to Congress urging them to support release of the files
Friday 14 November 2025 19:50 , Kelly RissmanA group of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse as well as relatives of Virginia Giuffre wrote a letter to members of Congress urging them to pass a vote to release the Epstein Files.
"We write to you as the family of Virginia Roberts Giuffre, and as fellow survivors of Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and their co-conspirators. You have the ability to vote to release the Epstein files, and with it, deliver a promise the American people have awaited for far too long. We implore you to do so," they wrote in a letter, obtained by NBC News.
“There is no middle ground here. There is no hiding behind party affiliation. The testimonies you heard are just a fraction of the unimaginable suffering endured by more than a thousand victims alike,” the letter states.
The group also mentioned Giuffre, an outspoken Epstein survivor who died by suicide earlier this year.
"Embody Virginia’s courage. Be brave and stand for her, in her absence. Vote YES on the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Vote for justice, accountability, and the truth,” they wrote.
'Gotta get to the bottom of what happened,' Illinois Democrat says
Friday 14 November 2025 20:00 , Kelly RissmanThe emails suggest that Donald Trump “knows a lot more than he’s letting on,” Illinois Democratic Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi said.
“That is directly opposite of what Donald Trump has claimed,” he said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Thursday.
Krishnamoorthi and others in Congress met with survivors earlier this year. Many said that many have no knowledge of the contents of the Epstein Files and have even lost memory of the trauma.
“For their sake, but also to prevent this from ever happening again, we gotta get to the bottom of what happened and get those files,” the Illinois Democrat said.

Friday 14 November 2025 20:10 , Kelly RissmanDemocratic Senator said it’s “not too shocking” that Donald Trump was named in the Epstein emails.
“There seems to be a reason the White House has been dreading this whole affair so outrageously,” Virginia Senator Mark Warner said in a social media video Friday.

MTG claps back at Trump after president says only ‘stupid’ Republicans care about the Epstein files
Friday 14 November 2025 21:50 , Josh MarcusPresident Donald Trump is engaging in a “huge miscalculation” by dismissing the bipartisan group of lawmakers pushing the government to release more of the Jeffrey Epstein files, according to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the latest reminder of her growing status as a Trump critic inside the GOP.
Greene, speaking with CBS Mornings on Friday, reiterated her belief that the president did not engage in any wrongdoing during his friendship with the late sex offender, but said she felt the White House has been wrong in dismissing Republicans seeking more information as “stupid.”
“Just being very honest with you, it’s something that I don’t understand,” the MAGA rep said, arguing that releasing more Epstein information sends a powerful message that the government “will not protect the predators,” even if they are tied to rich and influential people.
When asked about Greene’s comments, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said, “Democrats and the mainstream media are desperately trying to use this hoax as a distraction to talk about anything other than Democrats getting utterly defeated by President Trump in the shutdown fight.”
