Hotel worker recalls most awkward guest encounter they had - involving a plunger

When it comes to staying in a hotel, it's likely employees have seen and heard just about everything. But have you ever wondered what some of the weirdest things they may have encountered could be? Well if so, you're in luck as hotel workers have been anonymously sharing their most awkward customer encounters.

Taking to Quora, one user who claims they'd worked as a hotel Night Auditor shared their own bizarre tale, sharing how on one shift she had been on call for issues during the night and had to deal with a particularly strange request, involving a plunger and a nude guest.

In the post, she said: "As Night Auditor, I was called in the middle of the night asking for a toilet plunger.

"I found one and brought it to the room."

However, when she got to the room she was met with quite the shock.

She went on by saying: "The guy answered the door totally naked, and wanted me to come in and clear the toilet for him."

The member of staff was less than impressed with this request and instead decided to log the incident.

She said: "NOT HAPPENING! I logged the incident."

But the next day the customer took his complaints to the manager and reported the member of staff for refusing his request.

The employee explained in the post: "He complained to the manager the next day about my refusal, neglecting to mention his state of undress."

They add that his complaints were not successful and the manager declined to take any further action.

The woman continued by writing: "The manager told him that 1) I am front desk/night auditor only. I did him a favor [sic] by delivering the plunger; officially he’s supposed to come to the desk to get it.

"2) How dare he answer the door naked?! He had plenty of time to put on shorts or even wrap a towel around himself after making the call. He was surprised, then embarrassed, that the manager knew."

Many have replied in shock with one writing: "I did my time as a night auditor, and the things you see. It tends to prove the old saying, 'nothing good happens after midnight.'"

While another wrote: "Good for you and your manager. Good job."
