TRUE JEM is fancied to follow up a first turf victory at Goodwood three weeks ago by beating nine rivals for the Happy Birthday Molly Rose Handicap (7.08) at Haydock Park.
Karl Burke’s daughter of Dabirsim relished the rain-softened ground to hold Misscali by a length and three-quarters on the South Downs. That form has worked out well – both the runner-up and the third home, Woodlands Charm, hit the bullseye next time out.
The handicapper has reacted with a 5lb rise in the weights to a new British Horseracing Authority rating of 77 but, under similar conditions to Goodwood, Pierre-Louis Jamin’s mount is confidently expected to go in again.
At Doncaster, GET IT* can make it three scores from his last four attempts in the Betfair Daily Rewards Handicap (3.20). After drawing a blank from his first seven outings on turf, the Twilight Son gelding broke his duck on the natural surface at Bath at the beginning of May.
Following a fifth place at Newmarket 12 days later, the Clive Cox-saddled four-year-old was back to winning ways at Windsor on his most recent start. An additional 7lb on his back shouldn’t prevent another good account.
