Horse racing tips and best bets from Southwell, Wetherby, Wolverhampton and Leopardstown

FARMER'S GAMBLE (3:55) can reap the rewards in the Star Sports Handicap Hurdle at Southwell.

Dan Skelton’s horse built on some respectable efforts when routing Universal Secret at Wincanton.

The gelding was staying-on strongly so he can should advantage of a nice opening mark over 2m 4f.

Skelton remains in cracking form so he can also claim the two-miler with TARSEEM (4:30).

The hurdler got back on track with a respectable third to Skycutter in a decent maiden at Wetherby.

The gelding is open to plenty of progress after wind surgery so he can make a winning handicap bow.

Milton Harris is also thriving so I’m on LEN BRENNAN (1:00) in the opening handicap chase.

The nine-year-old hacked up from Admiral Barratry on debut for his current trainer at Plumpton.

The gelding still lurks on an attractive mark at this stage so he can follow up in a weaker contest.

John Groucott is hitting form so I’m backing MASSINI MAN (1:35) in the Star Sports Chase.

The gelding will relish returning to two miles after his excellent second to Victory Echo at Catterick.

GEOMETRICAL (2:45) can whip his rivals into shape for Tom Lawes in the novices’ hurdle.

The five-year-old rates a sure-fire improver after slamming Icone D'aubrelle on debut at Doncaster.

ABDUCTION (5:30) can seize the opening sprint at Wolverhampton for shrewd Charlie Wallis.

The gelding showed a willing attitude to deny Igotatext on debut for his current hander at Lingfield.

The four-year-old is just as good at this venue so he can make light of a well-deserved 2lb penalty.

HIGH VELOCITY (6:30) can extend Jason Tate’s winning streak in the Coral Handicap.

The speedster improved again when absolutely bolting up from Top Notch Tommy at Newcastle.

That was a smart performance so the gelding can dish out weight and a beating to a strong field.

KING OF THE SOUTH (8:00) can reign for William Knight in the Betway Handicap.

The gelding produced another career best when second to Fancy Man in a Lingfield Listed event.

The five-year-old remains in terrific form so he can resume the winning thread back over 1m 4f.
