Horrified Scarlett Moffatt told to 'kill herself' over toothpaste advert

Scarlett Moffatt was left shocked after being told to 'kill herself' over an Instagram plug for toothpaste she's been using.

Scarlett, who earlier this year revealed she finally 'had the confidence to smile' after getting her teeth done at a North East dentist, took to her Insta story on Thursday to talk her many followers through how to use some products she'd found to work wonders on her and other half Scott Dobinson's teeth.

Showing some of them off in her bathroom, County Durham star Scarlett did a voice over explaining what they were and how good they'd been for her but, what she thought was an innocent promo video sparked a sinister reaction from one social media user.

The Mirror reports the 30-year old was left disgusted after receiving a message from someone to "go kill yourself" after they'd seen the advert.

Former Gogglebox and I'm A Celebrity star returned to story in shock to explain: "I'm not being funny but some of your comments saying I should go and die, that I'm a fat ugly mess, back to bullying me about my teeth again - which I have just said is a trigger from my childhood… that's not okay, guys.

"I don't want anyone to think that I'm trying to sell them something, I use everything that I sell - I'm not one of those people who does ads all the time because I’d only recommend stuff that I thought that you’d like and that I personally think is good.

"But those comments were not okay, that's not okay to say that someone should go and die… Sorry guys, I'm just dumbfounded by this. I don’t know what my weight or my looks has to do with dental hygiene."

Earlier this week, Scarlett took to Instagram on a much more positive note to share that she had been working on something she was immensely proud of and was looking forward to the cat being let out of the bag on it.

She has recently been on screen in ITV cookery dating show Love Bites.
