'Horrible' - Son Heung-min makes Liverpool claim ahead of Tottenham Hotspur clash

Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min has hailed Liverpool as one of his favourite teams to watch ahead of their Premier League meeting on Sunday.

Spurs welcome Liverpool to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for what looks set to be one of only four top-flight games to take place this weekend.

Tottenham currently sit in seventh place on 25 points but have played three games fewer than all but one of the sides above them due to Covid-19.

Spurs are yet to catch fire since the arrival of Antonio Conte as manager but Son wants his team-mates to make it as difficult as possible for Liverpool, who he admits he admires greatly.

“Liverpool are a really, really strong team and when I watch their games I really enjoy them because the way they play is really fun to watch as a football fan,” said the South Korea international in an interview with Sky Sports.

“So it’s going to be a massive, massive game and it means something to us as well.

“I don’t want them to think that they can come here and get three points easily. I don’t want to give them an easy three points.

“I want to take the three points from them because it’s our home.

“I want to make it a horrible afternoon on Sunday… ‘Come to London, it’s going to be a really tough game’… that’s our aim.”

Son's strike-partner Harry Kane ’s future was up in the air in the summer.

Manchester City held a heavy interest but the England captain eventually stayed put.

Kane has scored just once in the Premier League this season but Son says the goals will come.

“Watching Harry is so enjoyable and playing together is a dream,” Son added.

“Obviously he didn’t score a lot of goals like last season but the way he plays for the team is good, and the goal is going to come.

“As a striker when you’re having a period like this, the ball is going everywhere, you have a chance, a defender gets a touch, you miss the ball.

“These are the kind of things happening to H at the moment. The goal is going to come and we believe in his quality and as team-mates we want to help him get back to goals.”
