Homes in Arnold experience water 'supply interruptions', Severn Trent confirms

Water company Severn Trent has confirmed people living in parts of Arnold and Redhill could be experiencing problems with their supply.

At around 5.15pm on Thursday, January 23 the company posted on its website that it was aware of the issue.

In the 'Check My Area' part of Severn Trent's website, the whole area of Arnold is highlighted as potentially affected.

The website also states: "Customers living in in the Redhill/Arnold area of Nottingham may experience supply interruptions this evening due to complications with a repair.

"We're really sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, we're working as fast as we can to get this issued resolved as soon as possible."

Customers living in Borman Close, Nuthall may also be experiencing problems due to a leaking water pipe.

Workers from Severn Trent were said to be on site from around 3.30pm and as of 5.25pm engineers were still working.

The latest update reads: "Our engineers are continuing to carry out the repair work on the leaking water pipe.

"Customers living on Borman Close can expect to experience supply interruptions for the remainder of the repair.

"Our team are still on track to have the repair complete and your water supply restored back to normal for around 7pm. We'll provide more updates if this changes."

A spokeswoman for Severn Trent confirmed around 7.30pm: “Today our engineers have been fixing a burst pipe on Leivers Avenue.

"When the burst first happened we weren’t sure what the impact on customers would be, so we sent a text message to the local area, just so that people knew what was happening. Once our teams arrived at the burst, we only actually had a handful of customers that were affected.

“The pipe is now fixed and everyone should have their water supply back to normal.

“We’d like to say a huge sorry to anyone who did have issues - we know just how inconvenient that must have been, and also to anyone who received a message for any confusion.”
