Police are warning residents after a man entered a woman’s home and robbed her Wednesday in Galewood on the Northwest Side.
The 79-year-old woman was doing yard work outside her home shortly before 11 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Natchez Avenue, according to a community alert from Chicago police.
She came inside to find the man in her home, police said. She tried to leave, but he “held her and demanded property.”
The suspect then ran away through the alley with stolen goods, according to police. He was described as a slender man in his 20s between 5-foot-9 and 6 feet tall, wearing a black-and-white checkered hoodie and a backpack.
