Hollywood star Rob Lowe embraces 'opportunities'

Rob Lowe has reflected on his success

Rob Lowe doesn't have any intention of slowing down.

The 62-year-old actor has already enjoyed huge success in his career, starring in movies such as The Outsiders, Class, The Hotel New Hampshire, St. Elmo's Fire and Wayne's World - but Rob has no intention of resting on his laurels.

The Hollywood star told People: "I like to work. I like the opportunities."

Rob shot four independent movies in 2025 and he is about to announce a major new Netflix project. However, the actor is having to remain tight-lipped for the time being.

Rob said: "I’m very excited about [it]. I wish I could talk about it, but it’s a very big project."

Rob loves that his career has been so varied, meaning he's not been restricted to a specific genre.

He reflected: "One of the things that’s so satisfying for my career is that it could be anything. Not everyone gets to do that. There are ‘lists,’ and sometimes you don’t get to be on multiple ones."

Rob revealed that following his next block of work, he intends to work on a book.

He shared: "After this I’m going to get my dogs and go on a very long walk. And then I’ll probably go work on my book."

Rob previously cited "resilience" as the key to his longevity in Hollywood.

The actor explained that he's had to overcome a lot during the course of his career.

Asked to name his greatest virtue, Rob told GQ: "My optimism. The optimism leads to resilience and resilience is probably the greatest key for survival of a long career and a happy personal life.

"You get knocked down, you get back up, you have a long day, you're ready to go the next day. It's very valuable."

Asked to name his worst vice, Rob sarcastically replied: "At the moment, my worst vice is waking up in the middle of the night to eat a pint of ice cream. I don't know where that's coming from – I've never had that in my life. But it's my new cross to bear.

"I say to myself, 'You know what would solve this problem? A pint of chocolate ice cream.'"
