Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland dines in Skegness restaurant 2 nights in a row

Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland took staff and customers at a Skegness restaurant by surprise when he dined there two nights in a row. Giuseppe Lanzetta, the owner of The Lakes Restaurant in Burgh-le-Marsh, said the actor came with a group of people to his venue on April 11 and April 12.

Mr Sutherland, who has starred in hit TV shows such including 24 and Designated Survivor, enjoyed dishes including fresh Skegness mussels during his visits. Mr Lanzetta said he didn't know why Mr Sutherland was in Skegness, but it is believed he may have music connections in the area, Lincolnshire Live reports.

Speaking about the visit, Mr Lanzetta said: "He just came in over two nights with around five people at about 5pm. It was a very good surprise for everybody and we noticed who he was straight away when we served him.

"The first night he had mussels fresh from Skegness and a lamb shank and he came back the next night to try a Neapolitan pizza. I guess he loved it and I hope he will be coming back."

The restaurant, steak house and bar on Skegness Road is open from Tuesday until Sunday every week. Mr Lanzetta said he told Mr Sutherland that he was "his President", as a reference to the role he plays as President of the United States in Designated Survivor.

He added: "He was a very nice person and well-dressed. It was quite a busy night when he came in and people asked for a picture at the end.

"I have had a few people come in from Eastenders before. It's nice for us to have had him come into our restaurant because it makes us believe in what we are doing."
