THE Glasgow-born Hollywood legend James McAvoy was "sucker-punched" during a "random attack" at a bar in Canada.
McAvoy, from Drumchapel, was allegedly attacked by a stranger in a Toronto bar on Monday, September 8.
People reported that the Glaswegian actor was assaulted while he was in the city for his directorial debut of California Schemin'.
The 46-year-old and his wife, Lisa Liberati, attended the world premiere of the film at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday, September 6.
However, while enjoying their evening at Charlotte's Room on Monday, McAvoy was "hit by a man" shortly before midnight.
After the alleged, the X-Men star reportedly tried to de-escalate the situation as others intervened to remove the man.
A source close to McAvoy said: "James was having a casual get-together with the producers of his movie, and as he later learned when speaking with the staff, there was a man who drank too much who was getting escorted out.

"James' back was to him, and the man just punched him."
After the incident, it is claimed McAvoy stayed at the bar and "laughed" the assault off.
