Hollyoaks cast say Owen Warner stayed true to himself and deserves to win I'm a Celebrity

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson is tipping Owen Warner to be crowned I’m A Celeb’s King of the Jungle.

Kieron, 36, who plays Ste Hay, reckons Owen is the soap’s best chance of winning a reality TV show.

He said: “Everyone has fallen in love with him. He has shown he has the humour, sensitivity and the fearlessness which you need for a challenge like this.

“I think he is our best ever shot at someone from Hollyoaks finally going on to win one of these shows.

“We have had a few people in finals, like Jamie Lomas and Danny Mac on Strictly, and we always hope for them to win.

“We vote like everyone else, but this time feels different.

“I hope he wins. He has given us everything you want from a campmate. He got stuck in, learned a fair bit and given us shower shots.”

Kieron, who finished third in 2010’s Dancing on Ice said: “He has done his family and everyone at Hollyoaks proud so either way, he is a winner.”

Ross Adams, 37, whoplays Scott Drinkwell on Hollyoaks said: “Owen is like everyone's younger brother on the show and that’s been his role in camp. Everyone wants to take care of him, look after him and feed him and that’s exactly the same as on Hollyoaks.

“He has been brilliant. He has been himself. he has been hilarious and has the biggest heart.

“It would be amazing to see him crowned King of the Jungle. He deserves it.”

Today, as the final four contestants faced I’m A Celeb’s ultimate challenge, Matt Hancock ’s partner Gina Coladangelo spent a day on the beach in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, with Jill Scott ’s partner Shelly Unitt.

Meanwhile, Mike, 44, Owen, 23, Matt, 44, and Jill, 35, pulled on some Lycra and adopted their alter-egos to take on the unforgiving Celebrity Cyclone Trial.

Mike became Quicksilver, Owen was Goldicocks, Matt Bronze Bronco and Jill was Purple Reign.

Owen beamed: “I’ve got the cape, I’m in the tight Spandex and I’m loving life. This has been on my bucket list since I was a little kid. I never thought I’d be on the show, let alone being in here, looking the cyclone in the face.”

The campmates had to get four stars on to their markers and keep them there until the end of the trial.

With 10 minutes to complete it, the first celebrity had to step off the twister through a trench with all four stars to the first star marker.

One by one the other celebs followed. Jill was up first, followed by Matt, Mike and then Owen.

Jill made it to her star marker but dropped a star so had to go back.

Matt then shocked everyone by diving into the first plunge pool. He strode confidently up the course, but dropped a star and on his return was pelted by yoga balls and water. He then dropped another star so had to repeat his journey.

Mike rugby-tackled Matt to get hold of the stars he needed.

Owen tried walking up the course but kept slipping over.

Eventually in place they were then all washed away back to the start, only to get back in position and be washed away again.

But when time was called, all four were in position and won four meals.

“It’s the most fun I’ve ever had,” Jill said after.

While they were away, choc ices were hidden around camp. The celebs found all four.

Owen realised the England versus Iran football score was burnt into the stick.

Jill found the Wales score and Mike discovered the England v USA 0-0 draw.
