Holly Willoughby screams and cowers behind I’m A Celebrity’s Declan Donnelly as snake nearly BITES Emily Atack

Terrified: Holly Willoughby takes cover behind Declan Donnelly (Picture: ITV)

I’m A Celebrity host Holly Willoughby shrieked in horror and ran as she watched Emily Atack take on the first Bushtucker trial of the series.

The Inbetweeners star came close to getting bitten by a snake as she attempted to grab a yellow star during Viper Pit.

Atack was voted in by the public to take part in the challenge, which saw her put her hands into holes housing snakes in a bid to win food for camp.

In a teaser clip ahead of tonight' show Willoughby can be seen cowering behind co-host Declan Donnelly as she struggles to watch.

“Just be really gentle,” she says. “You might have to move him along slightly. I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Atack attempts to grab the star before dropping it and attempting a second try which upsets one disgruntled reptile who jumps up to bite the actress.

Willoughby screams in fear as she runs for cover, leaving Donnelly speechless.

Atack is currently living in Snake Rock with her Yellow teammates Rita Simons, James McVey, Fleur East and Anne Hegerty. They will also face tomorrow night’s Bushtucker trial after losing the epic race into camp against the Red team’s Harry Redknapp, Nick Knowles, John Barrowman, Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Sair Khan on Sunday night’s launch show.

Atack's mother Kate joined Lorraine Kelly on her ITV morning show on Monday, telling viewers her daughter will do well Down Under.

“It will be the making of her, I hope she will have a ball,” she said. “I don’t care about her winning, I just want her to do well.”

I’m A Celebrity is on ITV, tonight at 9pm
