Holly Willoughby divides viewers as they make complaint about TV star before she makes a splash

Holly Willoughby made sure to make a splash as she returned live to ITV on Tuesday night. The TV star was back hosting The Games on the channel alongside Freddie Flintoff.

After appearing from Crystal Palace during the first episode of the series on Monday (May 9), the competition moved over to the London's Aquatics Centre for some action in the pool. It kicked off with the Men's Freestyle, which once again saw Wes Nelson emerge victorious, before the six male and six female celebrities paired up for the second round of synchronized diving.

It was then over to another pre-recorded event, the Canoe Slalom at The Lee Valley White Water Centre which saw Manchester's own Ryan Thomas, best known for playing Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street, come out top, topping the leaderboard for the first time in the series so far.

But away from the sporting action, viewers were left divided tonight as host Holly, 41, wasn't just appearing on ITV as she also appeared on BBC One at the same time. The presenter was back on-screen in the latest, pre-recorded episode, of Freeze The Fear with co-host Lee Mack on the BBC.

So it became somewhat a battle with herself as she made a double telly appearance while taking a break from her usual hosting gig on This Morning, where she has been replaced for the week by Rochelle Humes. But her appearance on two of the main channels didn't go down well with everyone.

@angenevs fumed: "#FreezeTheFear & #TheGames so that’s Holly Willoughby on BBC and ITV at the same time, I don’t know about anyone else but I’m sick of seeing her on nearly every show and also the Ads!!!" @Daisy26398461 commented: "Overdose of Holly Willoughby tonight #TheGames," as @scipfish tweeted: "#thegames Holly Willoughby...overkill ffs ....she's on every f****g channel tonight..."

"Turn over five minutes into “The Games” as I can’t bear another second of that tripe only to find Holly Willoughby grinning inanely at me from BBC1 too. Please God spare us. #TheGames #FreezeTheFear," @IreneSquires tweeted. @jumpingjacks198 added: "FFS @hollywills on BBC1 and ITV at the same time. Seriously, are there no other presenters out there... @bbcsoutheast @ITV @ITVCareers #TheGames #freezethefear."

But @MrSamWilson celebrated: "#FreezeTheFear on BBC1, #TheGames on ITV... Welcome to the @hollywills Power Hour." @steveabbott07 joked: "#FreezeTheFear #TheGames double dipping with Holly and Chelcee tonight."

Holly, however, wouldn't have been paying attention as she was too busy ending episode two of The Games in style. Standing by the pool as they wrapped up the episode Holly and Freddie, 44, decided they weren’t going to miss out on the fun. "Do you know what, it’s absolutely boiling in here and I’ve been waiting to do this all night," Holly said as she began to remove her mic.

Grabbing Freddie by the hand after they both took out their earpieces, Holly asked him: "Shall we? You coming in?" before the pair launched themselves into the water fully clothed with their guest presenter Yung Filly heard screaming in surprise.

Sharing snaps of the moment on Twitter, fan page @hollywillslove wrote: "No way did @hollywills just do that!? Good on her! #TheGames."

Holly also shared a mini boomerang video of her and Freddie taking the jump on her Instagram page. "And that’s a wrap on tonight’s episode of @thegamestv … always a pleasure @aflintoff11," she said. And fans were soon commenting.

@patriciabuglass wrote: "Love this holly girl after my own heart not afraid to get a hair wet love the outfit as well you look stunning." @dave_octave_sings said: "Loved this moment so much! I was screaming from the sideline!"

"Did not expect this [crying laughing emojis] loved it," @pammie2010 replied. @clairepatersonmccrossin echoed: "Brilliant. I loved it."
