Holidaymaker return from six-week break to find rude note from neighbour on doorstep

A holidaymaker returned back from a six week trip to a nasty note from their neighbour on their doorstep.

A small, typed-out note printed on a small piece of paper was left on the doormat of the homeowner's property, describing the maintenance of their front garden as a "disgrace". The Mirror reports that the person who received the letter described it sarcastically as a "love letter".

The note read: "Your garden is a disgrace! You should be ashamed. The previous owners kept it immaculate."

The homeowner posted the note to a Facebook community page, writing how apparently the front garden "devalues the property" as well as the value of those surrounding it. An image of the note was posted along with the caption: “Getting back from a six-week holiday to find cute love letters”.

The post went semi-viral on the page, garnering 2,300 comments on the 'love letter'. One Facebook user wrote: "How did they know their neighbour wasn’t in hospital or something, what?? How rude."

Another said that the author of the letter thought they were "so tough", but claimed they typed it out so they couldn't be identified by their handwriting.

A third wrote: "I read this like a haiku for some reason."

More said: "Out of spite I'm never doing it again, thank you.”

And more agreed with this statement, as one concluded that she "wouldn't tidy up in a hurry" if she had received a similar note.
