Hit Stockport sandwich spot is moving to Sale

Rack, the sandwich makers from Stockport, are getting a new place. They’re heading to an old barber’s shop in Sale to bring their sterling hoagies, cubanos, stuffed focaccias, 'lasandwiches' and crammed-full bagels to the buzzing Greater Manchester suburb.

They unveiled their plans on their Instagram page, with a snap of the currently slightly dilapidated site on School Road, at the back of Sale’s high street. "We’re opening a brand new sandwich and brunch spot on School Road in Sale M33!” they announced.

“Taking over the space that once was a quirky first floor barber shop on the high street - The entrance is down the side alley and up the stairs, it’s got bags of character. Keep your eyes peeled for progress pics and the menu drop - opening soon!

“We’ll be keeping it all things sandwich but with the addition of a new brunch menu. It’s a much bigger space than the Stockport OG store and we’re very excited.”

Rack has become a go-to for some of the best sandwiches in the city, since it launched itself with a mobile van in 2018. It then set up its first bricks and mortar spot in 2021, on Lawrence Street in Stockport.

It’s been a hit ever since, with daily changing sandwiches, toasties, coffee and brunch dishes on the menu. As well as the van and the Stockport outlet, they’ve also traded at Food Halls in Sale and Stretford.

And if you can’t wait for Sale to open up, they’ll be at Stretford Food Hall until September.
