'History in the making' - Liverpool fans react to Jurgen Klopp team news decision

Liverpool are set for their first Premier League game in front of a full Anfield in 5232 games - and one name has already stolen the headlines as the team news was announced.

Jurgen Klopp has made two changes from the side that won 3-0 away against Norwich last week, with 18-year-old Harvey Elliott being handed his first Premier League start.

Jordan Henderson also comes into the team for the first time in six months, having taken an extra week to get up to full speed after being fit throughout the summer.

However, despite fans’ love for the Liverpool captain, it was Elliott that captured the imagination of the Reds fanbase, who awaited his performance on social media.

For Henderson, this is his first Premier league start for the Reds since the Merseyside derby in February, following his injury trouble in the second half of last season.

With the 31-year-old adopting the armband once again, Jurgen Klopp’s side are inching closer to being back at full strength, week by week.

Both Henderson and Elliott replace James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with Milner understood to be carrying a slight knock and Oxlade-Chamberlain also missing out today for personal reasons.

Elliott impressed immensely in pre-season, producing a star performance in the Reds’ penultimate friendly against Athletic Bilbao, and supporters will keep a keen eye on the youngster this afternoon.

The teenager came on for Keita on 83 minutes at Carrow Road and has already made the step up to the starting eleven, this early in the season.
