Historic Clifton building to be turned into luxury flats and coach house

A Georgian villa in Clifton, built in 1850, is being turned into six luxury homes.

Bristol developer Kersfield has been granted planning permission to convert 12 Clifton Park at the end of Worcester Terrace.

The company bought up the historic building in 2018, according to Business Live, and is planning to turn the property into six homes, including five two and three-bedroom apartments and one three-bedroom coach house.

Kersfield has teamed up with architects Nash Partnership and work on the property is expected to start in 2020.

The building will be fully restored as part of the process, including reinstating interior finishes in line with the original design plans.

The new development of homes will also have landscaped shared gardens and off-street car parking and cycle spaces.

Work on the property should be finished by autumn next year, the developers have said.

“These large lateral apartments by Kersfield provide a unique opportunity to acquire really spacious homes in a Georgian building with direct lift access to all floors, within walking distance of Clifton Village," said Dan Harris, associate director of Savills Residential Development Sales.

"Such opportunities are few and far between, which is why we have already been approached by a number of prospective purchasers seeking to buy off plan, before they are marketed.”

The building, which forms an integral part of the Clifton Conservation Area and is near the Grade II* Listed Clifton Cathedral and Worcester Terrace, was formerly part of Badminton School.

The homes will be available through Savills Residential Development Sales.
