Former President Bill Clinton’s deposition before the House Oversight Committee on Jeffrey Epstein ended after six hours, with lawmakers vowing to “bring more people in.”
During the closed-door proceeding in upstate New York, lawmakers probed the two-term president about his ties with Epstein. At one point, they asked him about a photo in the Epstein files, which depicts him reclining in a jacuzzi alongside an unidentified woman, according to news reports.
Clinton — who had a social and professional relationship with Epstein before his first conviction in Florida — stated that he “saw nothing” and “did nothing wrong.” He has not been charged with a crime associated with the billionaire pedophile.
The testimony — held just one day after Hillary Clinton’s deposition — prompted sharply contrasting reactions from Democrats and Republicans.
Republican members of the committee told reporters that the former president, who responded to every question, gave no indication that Donald Trump was connected to Epstein’s crimes—a claim Trump has consistently maintained.
But, Democrats offered a different perspective, indicating that the information Clinton gave them had raised more questions about Trump and Epstein’s relationship.
Video footage of the proceedings, as well as a full transcript, are expected to be released soon. And GOP Chairman James Comer vowed to “bring more people in,” adding, “We’re not finished.”

Nancy Mace says Trump has been 'exonerated over and over again'
01:01 , Brendan RasciusRep. Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican, claimed in a press conference after Bill Clinton’s deposition that “the Epstein victims have exonerated President Trump.”
“This is a trope…a rabbit hole you guys are going down,” she told reporters. “But he's been exonerated over and over again by Epstein victims.”
Top GOP lawmaker says Clinton is a ‘charming individual’ with ‘southern people skills’
00:35 , Brendan RasciusRep. James Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, was asked by reporters why Bill Cinton’s deposition went smoother than Hillary Clinton’s.
“Everybody knows President Clinton,” Comer said. “He’s got southern people skills. He’s a charming individual obviously.”
Rep. Nancy Mace stressed that both depositions were conducted respectfully.
‘Stay tuned on that:’ Comer addresses possibility of Lutnick testimony
00:05 , Brendan RasciusRep. James Comer, the GOP chairman of the House Oversight Committee, was asked by reporters whether or not Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick may be compelled to testify about Jeffrey Epstein.
“Stay tuned on that,” Comer said after Bill Clinton’s deposition. “We have a lot of questions about anyone who spent time with Epstein post conviction, the first conviction.”
Yesterday, Comer said that it’s “very possible” Lutnick will be brought in to answer questions.
Lutnick has admitted that he visited Epstein’s private island in 2012 along with his family.
Clinton didn't take questions from the media after his deposition
23:45 , Brendan RasciusFormer President Bill Clinton did not take questions from the media following his 6-hour deposition on Jeffrey Epstein.
His wife, Hillary Clinton, briefly spoke to reporters after her own deposition yesterday.
Republicans react to Bill Cinton testimony
23:21 , Brendan RasciusRepublican members of the House Oversight Committee hosted a brief press conference after former President Bill Clinton’s 6-hour deposition ended.
Several stated that the former president was cooperative and attempted to answer all questions posed to him.
“He did attempt to respond to every single question asked even when his attorneys told him to shut up,” Rep. Nancy Mace said. However, another GOP lawmaker accused Clinton of having “selective memory.”
Rep. Anna Paulain Luna reiterated a claim she made earlier, stating: “I do believe that Jeffrey Epstein was an intelligence asset and running some form of a honeypot operation.”
When asked about President Donald Trump, several members threw cold water on the idea that he might testify, claiming Epstein’s victims had exonerated him of any wrongdoing.
GOP Chairman James Comer told reporters that the investigation is still ongoing.
“We’re going to bring more people in,” he said. “We’re not finished.”
University cuts ties with Deepak Chopra, who appears in the Epstein files
22:58 , Brendan RasciusThe University of California San Diego announced it will cut ties with author Deepak Chopra, whose correspondence with Epstein appears repeatedly in the Epstein files.
In one exchange, Epstein told Chopra that he lost a $10,000 bet with President Donald Trump when his ex-wife Marla Maples became pregnant, The Independent reported in November.
The university said Chopra’s association with the billionaire pedophile was “regrettable,” according to CNN.
Clinton's deposition has concluded

Democrats believe they have the votes to force Lutnick to testify
22:37 , Brendan RasciusDemocrats on the House Oversight Committee believe they have the votes to force Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to testify before them about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
“I believe we will have the votes to subpoena him,” Rep. Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, told reporters this morning.
Rep. Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican, also joined in calling for Lutnick to answer questions from the committee.
Lutnick — a Wall Street billionaire turned influential Cabinet member — has faced scrutiny in recent weeks over his ties to Epstein.
He testified earlier this month that he and his family visited the convicted sex offender’s private island in 2012. On Thursday, the DOJ was accused of removing a photo from its website depicting Lutnick on the island with Epstein.
Boebert accuses Bill Clinton of 'gaslighting' the committee
22:17 , Brendan RasciusRep. Lauren Boebert, a Colorado Republican, accused former President Bill Clinton of “gaslighting” members of Congress during his deposition on Jeffrey Epstein.
“Clinton says he knows nothing and saw nothing,” Boebert wrote on X on Friday afternoon as the deposition continued.
“Riiight,” she wrote. “This gaslighting is top shelf. Slick Willie is at it again.”
Yesterday, Boebert leaked a photo of Hillary Clinton during her own deposition, sparking condemnation from Democrats for violating the rules of the closed door proceedings.

Bill Clinton 'repeatedly' said he never visited Epstein's island: report
22:00 , Brendan RasciusDuring his deposition before the House Oversight Committee, former President Bill Clinton said “repeatedly” that he never traveled to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean, sources told NBC News.
Republicans and Democrats offer conflicting views of Clinton’s testimony
21:48 , Brendan RasciusDemocrats on the House Oversight Committee said that former President Bill Clinton’s testimony “raised more questions” about President Donald Trump’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein.
“Let's be clear: today, President Clinton raised more questions about the relationship between President Trump and Epstein - specifically with regards to the reason their relationship ended,” Oversight Democrats wrote on X. “Claims that President Clinton fully exonerated Trump are wrong and a mischaracterization.”
But earlier in the day, GOP Chairman James Comer offered a strikingly different characterization of the deposition.
“President Clinton has testified that President Trump never said anything to him that would make him think Trump was involved in Epstein's crimes,” Comer told reporters.
“The modern Democratic Party has a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” he added.

Democrat reiterates call for Trump to testify before committee
21:31 , Brendan RasciusRep. Melanie Stansbury, a New Mexico Democrat, reiterated her call for President Donald Trump to testify before the House Oversight Committee.
“This investigation into the Epstein case is about justice for the survivors,” she wrote on X on Friday. “In today’s deposition of former President Bill Clinton, we asked the hard questions. President Trump, now it’s your turn.”
Democrat seeks to 'clarify' Comer's comments about Clinton and Trump
21:15 , Brendan RasciusRep. Maxwell Frost, a Florida Democrat, pushed back against a Republican’s claim that Bill Clinton’s deposition exonerated President Donald Trump.
Rep. James Comer, the GOP chairman of the House Oversight Committee, told reporters on Friday that Clinton said: “Trump has never said anything to me to make me think he was involved.”
Shortly after, Frost took to X to “clarify” Comer’s comments.
“President Clinton brought up a conversation he had with Trump in NYC re: Epstein,” Frost wrote. “President Clinton said that Trump told him that he had a falling out with Epstein due to a land dispute. This directly refutes Trump’s claims about why he fell out with Epstein.”

Clinton said he didn’t know the woman he was photographed with in hot tub
21:00 , Brendan RasciusFormer President Bill Clinton told lawmakers on Friday that he did not know the identity of the woman he was photographed with in a jacuzzi, sources told CNN.
During his deposition, the two-term president was also asked whether or not he had sex with the woman. He said he had not.
The photo of Clinton in the jacuzzi with an unidentified woman was released by the Justice Department as part of the Epstein files. It is one of several photos of the former president included in the files.

20:30 , Josh MarcusFormer Secretary of State Hillary Clinton grew “unhinged” on Thursday when she sat for a deposition as part of the congressional investigation into the Epstein files, Rep. Nancy Mace claims.
“I asked her very pointed questions and you’ll see that in the transcript and the video that comes out and you’ll see how she responded as well, screaming,” the South Carolina Republican told reporters Friday, ahead of the House Oversight Committee’s questioning of Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton.

Nancy Mace responds to Hillary Clinton's spokesperson
19:45 , Ariana BaioRepublican Rep. Nancy Mace accused Hillary Clinton’s spokesperson of “trying to spin” the former secretary of state’s “meltdown” during her deposition Thursday.
“Hillary Clinton shamefully used the terrorist attack of 9/11 as a scapegoat to cover for her and her family’s close relationship with Howard Lutnick, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislane Maxwell,” Mace wrote on X.
“In fact, Lutnick appeared to be key to Hillary trying to fundraise off Epstein for her failed presidential campaign LONG after Epstein was a well-known convicted pedophile (2015),” she added.
After Mace told reporters Hillary Clinton was “screaming” and “unhinged” during her deposition, a spokesperson for Hillary Clinton said Mace was “full of s***.”

Democrats insinuate Clinton gave information that raises questions about Trump
19:20 , Ariana BaioDemocrats on the House Oversight Committee indicated Bill Clinton shared information that has raised questions about Jeffrey Epstein’s relationship with President Donald Trump.
Rep. Maxwell Frost, of Florida, told reporters Friday afternoon that Trump “needs” to testify before the committee because he has been caught in “multiple lies.”
“I can tell you, I’ve seen unredacted files myself that directly refute his assertion that he kicked out Jeffrey Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago and the reasoning why he did that,” Frost said.
“Also, walking out of this, I can tell you we all now have a lot of new questions that we have to raise as it relates to the reasoning on why Donald Trump had a falling out with Jeffrey Epstein in the first place.”
Trump has said he had a falling out with Epstein before his 2008 conviction in Florida. He has long maintained he threw Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago golf club for acting inappropriately.
Trump has denied any wrongdoing associated with Epstein
Clinton emphasized that Trump has not been accused of wrongdoing: Comer
19:02 , Ariana BaioPresident Bill Clinton reportedly told lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee that he did not have any indication that President Donald Trump was involved in Epstein’s crimes.
Chairman Rep. James Comer reiterated Bill Clinton’s claims to reporters Friday afternoon during a break from the deposition.
Comer says Clinton told them "Trump has never said anything to me to make me think he's involved with Epstein."

18:15 , Ariana BaioA spokesperson for Hillary Clinton disputed Rep. Nancy Mace’s assertion that the former secretary of state was “screaming” during her deposition Thursday and lent some insight into the conversation that led to the incident.
“She is full of sh*t,” Nick Merrill said to CNN.
“Was she appalled that Congresswoman Mace wouldn’t let her answer a question about her work as a senator after the murder of 3,000 Americans on 9/11? Absolutely.”
Trump says he doesn't 'like' to see Bill Clinton deposed
18:14 , Ariana BaioPresident Donald Trump told reporters Friday that he did not like to see former President Bill Clinton deposed by the House Oversight Committee.
"I don't like seeing [it]. They certainly went after me a lot more than that,” Trump told reporters before departing on Marine One.
The president then told reporters, “I don't know anything about the Epstein files. I've been fully exonerated."

Clinton is cooperating, Republican lawmaker says
17:57 , Ariana BaioRepublican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna told reporters that Bill Clinton was cooperating with the committee members' questions so far.
The Republican from Florida gave reporters a brief update on the deposition and shared her own theories about Epstein’s network of employees who allegedly assisted him in trafficking women. Luna said she also believed Epstein was operating an “intelligence gathering operation.”

Clinton says he 'saw nothing' and 'did nothing wrong'
16:49 , Ariana BaioIn his opening statement, former President Bill Clinton assured House Oversight Committee members that he “saw nothing” and “did nothing wrong” while with Jeffrey Epstein.
"I had no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing. No matter how many photos you show me, I have two things that, at the end of the day, matter more than your interpretation of those 20-year-old photos,” Bill Clinton said.
“I know what I saw, and more importantly, what I didn't see. I know what I did, and more importantly, what I didn't do. I saw nothing and I did nothing wrong."

'Unhinged' and 'screaming:' Republicans accuse Hillary Clinton of being defiant
16:29 , Ariana BaioSeveral Republican committee members described Hillary Clinton’s demeanor in Thursday’s deposition as slightly uncooperative and chaotic.
“I asked her very pointed questions and you’ll see that in the transcript and the video that comes out and you’ll see how she responded as well, screaming,” Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina told reporters Friday morning.
Mace did not specify what she meant by “screaming,” but also said the former was “unhinged.”
“She was unhinged,” Mace said.
Democrats refuted the characterization of Hillary Clinton
"To say the Secretary was screaming, I think, is beyond a mischaracterization," Rep. Robert Garcia said.
Howard Lutnick could be subpoenaed to committee
16:01 , Ariana BaioDemocrat Ro Khanna said he believes the House Oversight Committee has enough votes to force Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to sit for a deposition regarding his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Lutnick has not been accused of wrongdoing associated with Epstein and denies participating or even knowing of Epstein’s crimes.
However, Lutnick was caught omitting information about his relationship with Epstein after the Justice Department released more than three million files. Lutnick and his family traveled to Epstein’s island for lunch in 2012.
Democrats says there are 'serious questions'
15:48 , Ariana BaioDemocrats are continuing to rail against Republicans for asking unrelated questions to Hillary Clinton during her deposition about Epstein and say they want “serious questions” for Bill Clinton today.
“What we’re interested in today is a serious deposition. We have real questions that deserve serious answers,” Rep. Robert Garcia said before Bill Clinton’s deposition began.
Rep. Maxwell Frost urged Republicans, “Don’t waste our time.”
Nancy Mace says Trump does not need to sit for deposition
15:45 , Ariana BaioRepublican Rep. Nancy Mace told CNN Friday morning that she did not think President Donald Trump nor First Lady Melania Trump needed to be questioned by the House Oversight Committee.
“He has answered questions. And the victims that I have spoken to actually exonerated President Trump,” Mace said.
Democrats disagree and believe the Trumps should face questioning too since the president once knew Jeffrey Epstein.
Although Trump knew Epstein, the two ceased their friendship before Epstein was convicted in 2008 in Florida. Trump has said he did not know about Epstein’s crimes and has denied wrongdoing. The president has never been formally charged with a crime related to Epstein.
Mace insisted that Bill Clinton, however, had not been exonerated by survivors of Epstein’s abuse. Bill Clinton also ceased contact with Epstein prior to his 2008 conviction. Bill Clinton has denied wrongdoing and also never been formally charged with a crime related to Epstein.
Republicans say Hillary Clinton deferred 'a lot' of questions to Bill
15:43 , Ariana BaioHillary Clinton deferred “at least” a dozen questions about Epstein to her husband, Bill Clinton, while being deposed by lawmakers Thursday, Rep. Comer said during a press conference Friday morning.
"A lot of the Clinton Global Initiative questions yesterday went unanswered because Ms. Clinton deferred to her husband," Comer said.
Comer said he hopes Bill Clinton will be able to answer those questions today.
Comer says he will ask questions about Epstein being in White House
15:38 , Ariana BaioRep. James Comer, the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said they will ask Bill Clinton questions about his correspondence, photos, flights and meetings with Jeffrey Epstein.
“I think the American people have a lot of questions, and our House Oversight committee is committed to getting answers. We’re committed to transparency,” Comer said.
Comer said Hillary Clinton told lawmakers Epstein was in the White House at least 17 times while Clinton was president.

“The United States is continuing its 20-year-long cover up,” Mace said.
