A MAN will face court in January after allegedly driving intoxicated in the early hours of Thursday and rolling his car onto its roof.
Police will allege the 35-year-old was driving his Mazda 6 on Sandy Point Road at Corlette about 4.50am when he lost control, hitting a parked car.
His vehicle rolled and landed on its roof near Foreshore Drive.
Police spoke to the driver, who was not injured, and conducted a breath test.
The test provided a positive result. Officers arrested the 35-year-old, taking him to Nelson Bay police station.
The driver submitted an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.176, which falls within the high-range category.
He was charged with high range PCA, and his licence was suspended.
He is due to appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday 25 January 2021.
