Hibs have been drawn alongside Alloa Athletic, Stirling Albion, Arbroath and Elgin City in Group C of the Betfred Cup.
They faced Arbroath at the same stage in 2017, beating the Red Lichties 6-1. Elgin were dispatched from this season's Scottish Cup.
Who the Hibees will host at Easter Road and which fixtures will be on the road is to be determined in due course.
For the second year in succession, Hibs and capital rivals Hearts were placed in the north section of the draw, while Edinburgh City were in the south.
Last season's campaign ended at the quarter-final stage after an unfortunate home defeat to Aberdeen on penalties.
Hibs last reached the final in 2016, losing 2-1 to Ross County before making the last four in 2017 when they were knocked out after a 4-2 defeat to Celtic.
