Hibs expecting '£4m bids' for Josh Doig as Jack Ross looks for quick decision over transfer

Hibs are expecting bids of more than £4million for Josh Doig - with Watford and Burnley looking to sign the teenager.

The Easter Road club were in no hurry to lose the defender but feel the money on offer is too much for them to turn down at this stage.

And, according to the Daily Record, it’s likely to be for more than £4m with Jack Ross admitting big offers are on the table with a number of other clubs still interested in signing him.

Watford and Burnley are believed to be the favourites to sign him, while there's also a suggestion he could go on loan to Nottingham Forest if he does move.

Doig was left out of Sunday’s game against Motherwell as he continued to mull over his future and while Ross expects him to go, he is still hoping he might stay at Hibs.

He said: “It looks much more likely that he’ll leave and if he does so it will be a fantastic move for him and good value for us as a club.

“Ideally, for me as a manager, you want those things to happen much sooner than in the past couple of days but you’ve got to deal with the problem it creates and find a solution.

“It’s been a challenging few days for him as he’s only 19 and it’s a new experience for him.

“At the moment it looks much more likely that he’ll be going soon.

“There’s two clubs definitely interested and whether any more come to the table on the back of this I don’t know.

“At the moment he has good options. It’s thoroughly deserved because of what he’s done here.

“If it happens it’s a great reflection on us developing him in a short period of time, making him better and getting him to a level that he’s in demand to those types of clubs.”
