Hibs defender Kane O'Connor reportedly on trial at Burnley ahead of potential summer move

A trio of English clubs are chasing Hibs defender Kane O’Connor with the teenager reportedly on trial at Premier League outfit Burnley.

Huddersfield and Brentford are also thought to be interested in the centre back, who’s contract runs out at the end of the season.

The 18-year-old signed a professional contract at Easter Road in January 2017. He was on the bench as the Hibees won the Scottish Youth Cup in 2017.

He has yet to make his competitive first team debut for Hibs, but was an unused substitute for the Irn Bru Cup third round win over Turiff Utd.

Ryan Porteous’ progression from the Development Squad, along with the experienced presence of Darren McGregor and Paul Hanlon means there isn’t a clear path to the first team for O’Connor, who may take the opportunity to try and advance his career elsehwere.
