A heroic lifeboat crew from Dublin were on hand to save a yacht in trouble on Thursday evening.

Howth RNLI launched the all weather lifeboat to rescue a lone yachtsman whose sailing vessel got into difficulty 15 miles east of Dublin

The yacht had suffered rigging and engine damage and was unable to make way.
