Shocking footage has shown the moment a heroic mother shielded her toddler from a glass panel that came flying off a building in China.
A mother and child were walking alongside a busy city pavement when the huge object came crashing towards them from a nearby shop.
The terrifying incident took place in Anda city in the Heilongjiang province on January 13, Yahoo! News reports.
A number of pedestrians were seen walking along the same pavement in footage of the incident captured by a security camera.
The mother and her son could then be seen coming into the shot and stopping briefly before the debris came careening towards them.
Luckily, the quick-thinking mother used her back to shield the child from harm as the glass panel crashed to the pavement and caused both of them to collapse to the ground.
Other pedestrians on the busy pavement could be seen backing away in shock and looking up at the building the debris had come from.
The mother immediately got up and turned to check on the young child, hugging him tightly after the petrifying ordeal.
Miraculously, neither sustained any serious injuries in the incident but the mother was reportedly treated in hospital.
It's not known what caused the object to fall from the building.
