Here’s who would win in a nationwide Farage-vs-Binface contest

  • New polling from More in Common reveals that 37 per cent of Britons would back satirical candidate Count Binface in a head-to-head contest against Nigel Farage, while just 32 per cent would vote for the Reform UK leader.
  • The Clacton by-election was triggered after Mr Farage stood down as the constituency's MP following scrutiny regarding his financial affairs.
  • Mainstream political parties, including Labour and the Conservatives, have opted not to stand candidates, although a record 34 hopefuls are contesting the seat.
  • While national polling favours Count Binface in a hypothetical head-to-head, local surveys in Clacton suggest Mr Farage retains a strong lead with 73 per cent of the local vote.
  • Recent national opinion polls show Reform UK losing ground to Labour, marking the first time Labour has led Mr Farage's party in over a year.
