Here is the full list of 'non-essential' shops closed in England during lockdown 2

Lockdown 2 is almost here and soon shoppers in England will be left with only a few places allowed to open.

Supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Co-Op are all classed as 'essential' shops so will be allowed to stay open.

They are be joined by garden centres, off-licenses and newsagents considered 'essential' by the government - but many others aren't as a lucky.

According to the government, the following shops will not be permitted to open during lockdown:

  • Clothing shops
  • Footwear shops
  • Electronics stores
  • Vehicle showrooms
  • Travel agents
  • Betting shops
  • Auction houses
  • Tailors
  • Tobacco shops
  • Vape shops

The following shops are classed as essential, and may be permitted to open:

  • Supermarkets
  • Newsagents
  • Off-licenses
  • Food shops
  • Garden centres

While non-essential retailers are closed for in-store customers, they are permitted to remain open for click and collect services, and for deliveries.

Non-essential shops in England will be permitted to remain open to the public until the new lockdown rules come into place at 00.01am on Thursday, November 5.
