Here Comes Toyota's Flying Car to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

An organization backed by Toyota Motor ( TM) to design a flying car announced two development bases on Thursday in conjunction with efforts to have the vehicle ready by the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Nikkei Asian Review reports.

The Cartivator project, founded in 2012, is made up of about 100 volunteers who are working to unveil the organization's flying vehicle called the Skydrive.

The two new bases will be located in Tokyo and Toyota City. The project's facility in Toyota City will open on Sunday, and its engineers will focus on designing the Skydrive frame.

Cartivator has stated that it has finalized design specs for a prototype, releasing an image of how the Skydrive will look, obtained by Nikkei.
