Here are the terms of Justin Bethel’s contract with Patriots

The New England Patriots added some incredible depth to their special teams unit for a cheap price. Newly acquired Justin Bethel signed with the Patriots on Wednesday and he adds a three-time Pro Bowler in the special teams category to the roster.

He signed a two-year contract, which includes a prorated 2019 base salary of $930,000, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. He is set to earn a base salary of $1.5 million in 2020, with per-game roster bonuses that could add up to $500,000.

Bethel, 29, has also been named First-Team All-Pro twice for his special teams abilities. He’s a capable defensive back if the Patriots attain any injuries to the secondary — so his contract gives New England valuable depth for a low price.
