Helen Skelton stuns in black swimsuit on Lake District holiday ahead of Strictly debut

Countryfile star Helen Skelton showed off her tanned body as she sizzled in a swimsuit whilst taking a break with her children in the Lake District on Monday.

The 39-year-old took to her Instagram account to share an image of herself in the black one-piece as she looked on across the water at the kids enjoying a paddle-boarding session.

BBC star Helen, who was recently confirmed as one of the celebrities taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing series, captioned the post: "Just like that the eldest two are old enough to pinch my board…. Life jackets and eyes on at all times."

Fans were quick to complement the mother-of-three's toned physique with one writing: "Wow Helen your [sic] looking fab, you go girl."

Another commented: "Looking very nice and toned there Helen!," while a third joked: "Nice view. The lake's not a bad view either!"

And a fourth replied: "You will now spend the next few years watching them have all the fun. You look amazing Helen."

The presenter's forthcoming appearance on Strictly has been met with controversy and scepticism, meanwhile, after a video interview recently resurfaced in which she boasted about winning the 2000 Ken Dodd Tap Dancing Award - despite recently revealing she can't dance.

Appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live last week she said: "People keep saying, 'Can you dance?' and I say, 'No', because isn't it the point to learn to dance?"

However, in comments made to the Sun in 2016, Helen revealed: "Not a lot of people know this, but I'm very good at tap dancing. People are often amazed I can tap dance."

Helen has in fact appeared on the show in the past - 2012's Christmas Special.

Partnering Russian professional Artem Chigvintsev, she wowed judges and received a score of 37 out of 40 after performing a Jive to Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas (Is You)'.

The new series of Strictly Come Dancing hits our screens on September 9 (BBC)

Helen joins EastEnders star James Bye, Ted Lasso's Ellie Taylor, Bros singer Matt Goss, Kiss radio host Tyler West, ex-footballer Tony Adams and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Molly Rainford.

Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds, comedian Jayde Adams, Coronation Street actors Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, Loose Women’s Kaye Adams, Radio 2’s Richie Anderson and wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin complete the line-up, with a launch scheduled for September 7.
