Helen Skelton praised on ITV Lorraine after 'rough time'

As Summer on the Farm returns to our screens tonight, July 7, presenter Helen Skelton was praised on looking 'well' and 'happy' as she appeared on ITV Lorraine.

Helen Skelton appeared on Monday's episode of ITV Lorraine where Lorraine Kelly complimented her saying, "I'm glad to see you look well and happy, you are a woman after my own heart," after her public split from husband, Richie Myler.

Helen announced on April 25 that the pair, who had been married for eight years, were no longer together. In an emotional Instagram post, the 38-year-old TV star said that Richie had "left the family home".

Just weeks after the split it emerged that Myler was in a new relationship with girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill.

In Monday's episode of ITV Lorraine, Helen appeared to discuss Summer on the Farm which will return to screens from 8pm this evening. Lorraine Kelly said: "Its so good to see you, you have had a rough time I know - its good to get out there working.

"You are my kind of woman, you put on a brave face."

Helen told Lorraine: "Anyone in my position would do the same.

"Its so much fun, it's not like work - I talk out loud and play with cute animals."

Although this series will be very different from Christmas on the Farm, because Helen was pregnant, she gave birth to a daughter named Elsie Kate, just four months before the split from former husband.

She added: "There was always a vet on hand when filming, imagine if the baby was delivered by a vet."

After taking a break from work and social media following the split. Helen has since returned to our screens and has a 'world opening up for her' as she takes on new presenting roles. The TV star has previously been a sports presenter at the start of her career - she will be doing more for Five Live in the coming weeks.

She will also be coming to ITV for 'something secret' in September, Lorraine teased.
