Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has revealed one of the first things he was told by staff at London Colney was the rivalry with Tottenham.
The Spanish full-back joined the Gunners back in 2011 and has gone on to play more than 200 times for the club.
The 25-year-old came through the ranks at FC Barcelona so knew very little about English football when he first came over from Spain.
Speaking ahead of the North London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon, Bellerin has revealed one of the first things he was told when he walked into training was to 'hate Tottenham.'
"It was one of the first things the people at the training ground told me that I had to do - just hate Tottenham straight away!" he said in an interview with the BBC.
"It doesn't matter who you like, you just have to hate Tottenham.
"It's something that is transmitted through other players - all the young players and those who come from another country.
"Players that come through the academy and that are English, they know all about it.
"It's something that is transmitted through the fans, social media, watching Premier League games so you know how important the rivalry has always been.
"We haven't been on the best of runs but I always feel these kind of games are the best way to turn that around."
