Hearts v Kilmarnock: Every word from Steve Clarke's press conference

Steve Clarke addressed the media ahead of their trip to Tynecastle to face Hearts tomorrow.

Here's every word from today:

When you look at the way the team have performed, does that help you in the way you go about your business?

Clarke: "It makes my job easier. They train well everyday, I have always spoke highly of the group of players I found when I got here.

"I supplemented that with a few loans and it's helped us out, it worked out really well for us."

Are you surprised that Gary Dicker or Stuart Findlay weren't nominated for the Player of the Year award?

"I think I have got players in my team who deserve to be nominated, but sometimes when you're at a more unfashionable club it takes something extraordinary to get above the two big Glasgow clubs. I am surprised but probably not surprised if that makes sense."

Gary Dicker and Stuart Findlay won the club's award, does that show the level of the two players?

"Yes, and Chris Burke was only one vote behind. You could have picked anyone, its a year that everyone deserved a trophy, and that includes everyone who hasn't played so much because squad players are important, and sometimes more important because they can affect the outcome of games. I always say to the players that it's a squad game and everyone makes a contribution."

At this stage of the season are there any players you are looking at getting signed up for another year?

"We are looking at everything, as I sit here now there are only two players (Kris Boyd and Adam Frizzell) who have still to sit down and decide what to do next season. Every other player is signed up which is good because it gives us that stability that I spoke about when I first came in. We have a good mixture of young and old players that can help out. There was previous transfer windows at Kilmarnock that more than 10 players came in, that's too many. There's no connection with the crowd and players if that happens."

Have you been sounded out for the Scotland job?

"My focus is on Kilmarnock between now and the end of the season. We have got some massive games, and we want to challenge Aberdeen for third. We have got three massive matches so I can't look beyond that. There has been no approach."

You can secure fourth this weekend how big would that be?

"I can't really speak about it until we do it. We need to beat Hearts, that's all we are focused on. We have played two games post-split and lost so we need to remedy that and hopefully we can do that this weekend."

Liverpool loanee Liam Millar insists he won't rule out return to Kilmarnock

Financially for the club there's £200k difference between third and fourth, what that mean for you in the transfer market?

"I don't think in the grand scheme of things it would affect any transfer business, but obviously the more money the club can get it means the club has more security. The more money we can get the better."

In terms of Hearts, what are you expecting?

"A big, strong physical performance. They are very good at home and always competitive, they beat us here last time so we probably owe them one."
