Hearts televised Championship games confirmed as fixture dates switched

Hearts opening two Scottish Championship fixtures have been moved to a Friday evening, with both games screened live on BBC Scotland.

Robbie Neilson's men welcome Dundee on the opening day, before travelling to Gayfield Park to face Arbroath a week later.

Both of those matches have now been switched from the traditional Saturday 3pm kick off to the Friday night television slot, with both games shown on the BBC Scotland channel.

The matches will kick off at 19:45 instead of last season's 19:05 slot, the broadcaster confirmed, and coverage will be fronted by presenter Jonathan Sutherland and Scotland international Leanne Crichton alongside a revolving cast of guest pundits in an extended two-and-a-half hour long show.

A total of 20 fixtures will be shown live on the channel throughout the course of the season, with all ten second-tier sides featured in Friday night kick offs.

Hearts stepped up their preparations for the new campaign with a 2-0 win over League One Partick Thistle on Saturday.

They officially get their 2020/21 season underway with a Betfred Cup meeting with Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Tuesday October 6, with that match to be shown live on Premier Sports.

The Jambos are back on screens a week later for the cup visit of Raith Rovers and their fifth televised match of the month will come in the Scottish Cup semi-final Edinburgh derby on October 31.
