Heart of Midlothian have signed Dutch goalkeeper Beau Reus.

He joins after leaving Belgian side Beveren, where he spent the last four seasons.

Reus has signed a three-year contract with Hearts, subject to international clearance and Scottish FA approval.

The 24-year-old has been handed the No.1 jersey.

Reus made over 120 appearances for Beveren, helping them win the second tier and gain promotion to the Belgian top flight last season.

A Hearts statement described him as a "towering Dutchman" who "stands at 6’6” tall."

The club also highlighted his stint as Beveren's number one over the past four years.

Having started his career with Dutch side AZ, Reus made 31 appearances for Jong AZ before moving to Belgium in 2022.

He enjoyed a successful spell with Beveren, culminating in a league title win and promotion last season.

He kept 48 clean sheets in 126 games in Belgium.

He now joins Hearts to continue his career under boss Wouter Vrancken.

Meanwhile, Liam McFarlane has completed a loan switch to Partick Thistle.

McFarlane, a highly-rated young goalkeeper, will stay with the Jags for the 2026/27 season subject to SFA approval.

The 21-year-old is expected to continue his development as the club's No.1 goalkeeper.

He spent the last two seasons out on loan, first with East Fife, helping the side win promotion from League Two, and then with Alloa Athletic last season.

McFarlane was a standout in both spells.

He was also taken to the World Cup with Scotland as a training goalkeeper, gaining valuable experience alongside Angus Gunn, Craig Gordon, and Liam Kelly.

Over his career, which includes his time with Hearts B in the Lowland League, he has made over 130 appearances including play-off experience.

Thistle boss Mark Wilson said: "We’re delighted to add Liam to our squad for this season.

"He’s a strong young keeper who has built up a good level of experience both out on loan and around the Scotland set-up.

"It’s a competitive area but he ticks all the boxes for what we’re looking for in a goalkeeper, so he’ll definitely be coming in to challenge for the number one spot."

With McFarlane's loan move and Reus's signing, Hearts continue to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
