Hearts learn date for Alan Forrest yellow card appeal hearing

Hearts will learn the outcome of their appeal against Alan Forrest's yellow card for diving on Thursday, it has emerged.

On Saturday, the Jambos winger was adjudged to have dived in the 2-2 draw with Ross County.

The 27-year-old raced through on goal before rounding goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw. He was clipped on his way to ground, as the Tynecastle crowd awaited a penalty decision by referee Alan Muir.

However, instead, a free kick was awarded to the visitors, with the on-field official brandishing a booking to the attacker much to the bemusement of the Hearts faithful.

In the days after the game, Hearts confirmed they had lodged an appeal against the yellow card.

Now, it has emerged via the Daily Record that the hearing for the matter will take place at Hampden on Thursday afternoon.

Steven Naismith was left baffled by the decision, as he admitted that he would like to see Forrest extend his contract in Gorgie.

The head coach said: "For me, Al was man of the match. He’s someone who has had to be patient. He’s got really good attributes. I’ve questioned his big moments.

"Can we get him to be more consistent? He’s worked as hard as anybody in the squad to make sure he gets his opportunity and he’s got it. Hopefully he will sign a new contract soon. He’s a big player for us."
