Hearts duo Craig Gordon and Liam Boyce nominated for Championship Player of the Year

Craig Gordon and Liam Boyce have both been nominated for Championship Player of the Year award.

The Hearts duo are up against Dundee’s Charlie Adam and Raith’s Regan Hendry for the award.

Gordon has been in fine form all season after Robbie Neilson brought his former teammate back to Tynecastle from Celtic last summer.

The Scotland international has kept the most clean sheets in the league and has produce a string of stunning saves at big moments as Hearts sealed the Championship title and an immediate return to the top flight.

Gordon made his 200th appearance for his boyhood club during the campaign as well. He has a year left to run on his contract but Neilson is hopeful the ‘keeper will play on for another three or four years.

Boyce not only topped the club scoring charts, but the league one as well with 14 goals.

The Northern Irish international has also turned in some impressive displays in his first full season in maroon after signing from Burton Albion in January 2020.

Adam could yet join his fellow nominees in the Premiership next season with Dundee 3-0 up against Hendry’s Raith Rovers after their semi-final first leg at Stark’s Park last night.

The award winners are due to be announced Sunday 16 May.
