A 'healthy' 31-year-old has spoken about how coronavirus spread through her lungs 'like wildfire'.
Brittany Ann, from Huntington, New York, is a non-smoker and never had any respiratory issues beforehand.
But the deadly disease gave her pneumonia and left her feeling like 'there was no guarantee she would leave hospital'.
Brittany was placed in isolation and wasn't allowed any visitors - not even her family.
She says she still has a long road to recovery ahead of her, and wrote on March 21 that she still had Covid-19 and pneumonia in both lungs.
Now she has shared her brave story in a Facebook post, with over 3,500 shares.

Brittany wrote: "With the way my lung X-rays looked upon admittance, there was no guarantee I would walk out of the hospital."
"I got to be one of the lucky ones today. I got to walk out the doors of Huntington Hospital after a week of hell and a close call with Covid19.
"You just don’t know which way it will go. Most cases are mild; that was not the case for me.

"I was the exception at 31 years old and healthy; non-smoker with no prior respiratory issues.
"Mine spread through my lungs like wildfire and developed very rapidly into a potentially critical case of double lung pneumonia.
"You never think it will happen to you, until it does."

Brittany Ann warned it can happen to anyone and told people to stay at home.
She gave people advice to eat healthily and take care of themselves.
Brittany said the experience has changed her forever, and that she's grateful for everyone who prayed for her and got her through the tough time.
She thanked the "incredible" doctors, nurses and other members of staff at Huntington Hospital who held her hand while in full hazmat suits.
Thank you, she said, for being her family when she didn't have her own.
She said she wanted to show a story with a positive end, that despite the fear things can be OK.
In her post, Brittany told people to let go of things we hold onto because life is too short.
She also thanked her doctor and best friend Michael Steven.
