Headless body found on Songkhla beach

SONGKHLA: A headless human body, decomposed to the bones, was found on an ocean beach by a man out for a walk on Wednesday morning in Muang district.

Taweesak Singthong, 72, reported to police that he came across the skeletal remains near the shoreline at Moo 3 village in tambon Khao Rup Chang, Pol Capt Monchai Tonkocharn, a Muang investigator, said.

Police and doctors from Songkhla Hospital went to check out the report. 

Only the bones of the upper part of the body were visible, and there was little flesh left on them. The rest was buried in the sand. There was no head. It was not known if the deceased was male or female, or how they died, he said. 

The remains were taken to Songkhla Hospital for examination and missing persons records were being checked.
