‘He wants Republicans to cheat’: Trump calls for ‘VOTER REFORM’ right after his party got swept under the rug in elections

Hours after GOP losses in major races, including Zohran Mamdani‘s New York mayoral win over Andrew Cuomo, Donald Trump‘s reaction wasn’t introspection. It was to rewrite the rules with a “voter reform.”

Donald Trump’s hand-picked candidate, Andrew Cuomo, just lost the New York mayoral election to Democrat Zohran Mamdani. Other Trump-endorsed candidates fared no better, and Republicans across the country were staggering on their next move. But within hours, Trump logged onto Truth Social and issued his first reaction: Let’s change the voting system.

His midnight rant was all about a supposed “voter reform.” Why? Because with a just voting system, no one in their right mind would vote for his party. ‘Pass Voter Reform, Voter ID, No Mail-In Ballots. Save our Supreme Court from ‘Packing,’ No Two State addition, etc. TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER!!!” he wrote. And he made not one, but two consecutive posts about his reform.

In his other post, he commanded his Republican pets to “TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER!” again. “GET BACK TO PASSING LEGISLATION AND VOTER REFORM! President DJT,” he announced. The posts scream his authoritarian motive louder than his all-caps nonsense. Since he can’t win the game, he wants to twist the rules.

His “voter reform” means stricter ID laws and a ban on mail-in voting. These two measures would suppress the majority of young, urban, working-class, and disabled Americans. These are the groups that just rejected him and dealt victory to the opposition. He is also demanding the Senate destroy its own guardrail, the filibuster, so Republicans can jam these changes through.

The irony here is that MAGA spent years defending the filibuster when it blocked Democrats. But faced with another electoral beating, Trump suddenly wants it gone. He’s not even hiding his selfish agendas at this point. Mamdani’s win has probably taken him by a heart stroke, especially when he tried so hard to push him down with authoritarian tactics.

Trump had announced on multiple occasions that he would withhold any funds other than necessary from NYC if Mamdani wins. And his goons, Florida Rep. Randy Fine and Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles, called for investigations into Mamdani’s citizenship and even his “deportation flight to Uganda.” Yet, voters still chose the candidate the GOP tried to erase. And that’s precisely what Trump can’t stomach.

But social media can see right through his tactics. Users called out his “voter reform” for what it really is: a license to cheat. One user wrote, “speaks volumes that Trump’s response to tonight’s resounding defeat is to demand Republicans redouble efforts to rig elections.” Others translated his post, saying it “sounds like cheating with extra steps.” One destroyed him completely, pointing out that “the only thing that could’ve saved the GOP tonight was canceling the election entirely.”

But since Trump can’t cancel the elections, he is looking for a backdoor into the winning room.
