Fresh out of high school, Nigel Sizer set off on an adventure that changed the course of his life. After that, he dedicated his professional life to fighting for the world’s most threatened forests, as well as rural communities living in poverty.

Sizer’s vision of a rebalanced world has been honed by earning a doctorate degree in tropical ecology; living for years in Kenya, Brazil and Indonesia; and working as as global director of the World Resources Institute’s forests. In this video, Sizer details his backstory and offers a peek into his home life.
