Canberra milliner Christine Waring is a gentle soul, her creative talents obvious in the headpieces she has been making for stylish women in the national capital for more than 30 years.

Now, Christine has very quietly decided to donate 10 per cent of all her sales to Karinya House and Roundabout Canberra, both organisations dedicated to helping families and children.

She is also a volunteer at both places.

"They are part of my family now, and both Karinya House and Roundabout Canberra support women, babies, families," she said.

"I value my family so much and I value the support I have always received through my life, both as a child growing up and as a mother, wife and businesswoman myself.

"This is such a wonderful way to support my two favourite charities through doing something I love to do."

Karinya House provides supported accommodation, transitional housing and outreach services for pregnant women and other mothers in crisis and their families.

Roundabout Canberra distributes preloved baby items to families in need.
