Harry Winks on Tanguy Ndombele: He reveals what Lloris and Sissoko told him about new signing

Harry Winks is excited about the arrival of Tottenham Hotspur's club record £63m signing Tanguy Ndombele.

Spurs sealed the statement signing of the 22-year-old France international on Tuesday on a six-year deal.

The Tottenham players return to pre-season training next week and Winks is looking forward to welcoming Ndombele to the club after hearing good things from his French team-mates.

"We've heard a lot about him through Hugo Lloris and Moussa Sissoko, both have played with him at France. We've heard he's a top player. We haven't seen too much of him through watching him on TV because obviously he's been in the French league," he told TalkSPORT.

"From what we've heard and the clips we have seen of him he looks like a fantastic addition to the squad and we're looking forward to welcoming him when we get back in."

Winks believes the signing of Ndombele, as well as the club securing one of England's brightest young talents in Leeds winger Jack Clarke, showed the way the club is moving forward.

"It's an exciting time for us and it shows the ambition of the club and where we want to go this season and what we want to achieve. Bringing players in is only going to be beneficial to everybody involved," said the England international.

"It's only going to help with the competition and help players to push on to another level.  That's exactly what the manager and the coaches want us to do."
