Harry Wilson in limbo as Liverpool mull over loan exit with no transfer offer on table

Liverpool will have to consider letting Harry Wilson go out on loan again if they want to move him on before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Liverpool have no concrete offers on the table for Wilson after Burnley boss Sean Dyche ended his interest in the Wales winger.

Burnley were not prepared to offer Liverpool’s minimum asking price of £15million and the Clarets will not be returning to the negotiating table.

Leeds have also cooled their initial interest and they are instead signing Brazilian winger Raphinha from Rennes.

Wilson, 23, has had four different loan spells away from Anfield since 2015 and Liverpool must decide if they want to send him out again for the rest of the campaign.

Wilson, who has three years left on his current Liverpool contract, had a successful loan spell with Bournemouth last season, despite their relegation, and scored seven Premier League goals.

He also did well at Derby in season 2018-19, scoring 16 goals and making four assists.

He played in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup defeat to Arsenal on Thursday, missing a penalty in the shootout.

It was only his second senior appearance for the Reds and his first since making his debut in an FA Cup tie against Plymouth in January 2017.
