Harry Potter's Miriam Margolyes makes hysterical graphic joke about being a lesbian

Miriam Margolyes has made a very uncensored joke about being a lesbian - and it's absolutely hilarious.

The former Harry Potter star, 78, explained why she "always had" crushes on women instead of men in an interview with The Guardian .

She is dating girlfriend Heather Sutherland, who is a retired Australian professor of Indonesian studies, and the pair have been together since 1967.

The star began talking about her relationships with men, and threw in a very graphic comment when asked about her sexual attraction to males.

Miriam hilariously said: "I can like them and have my male friends, but I just don't feel groin excitement from them."

The former Professor Sprout actress earlier revealed it was a "bombshell" when she found out she was attracted to women.

Miriam said: "I think it all came as a bit of a bombshell. I used to have crushes [on women] and they were incredibly passionate and all-consuming."

"I wasn't really interested in men and I'm still not – I'm not interested in their souls, because very few men have souls," she cruelly taunted.

"When you find one that has, it's worth it. Most of them are just so trivial. And if you're not sexually interested in men, they're unbearably trivial."

Margolyes has been with Heather for nearly 52 years, and revealed their long-lasting relationship has worked because of "love, trust and telling the truth".

"Never let the sun set on a quarrel. We don't live together, which is probably why we've stayed together that long. She likes to work and I do, too. Communication – you must talk to your partner," she discussed.

The actress cheekily spoke about their sexual attraction to each other, saying she doesn't feel physical lust.

"I don't feel physical lust, but I feel mental lust. I love talking to her, and I suppose my happiest moments, really, are just lying in bed with her and looking at the ceiling and talking. That’s my big joy."
