Harry Kane squeaked through his media duties after England’s win over Mexico, having lost his voice singing ‘Wonderwall’ with the travelling fans.
Kane scored his sixth goal of the World Cup, and second from the penalty spot, after the Three Lions saw off El Tri at the famous Azteca Stadium to reach the quarter-finals.
Hailed as “one of England’s greatest performances”, the Three Lions played almost 45 minutes, including second-half injury time, with 10 men after Jarell Quansah’s red card.
A rearguard display produced a famous 3-2 result, and the England players sung Oasis’s ‘Wonderwall’ with their fans after the full-time whistle, as has become tradition.
But Kane, having played 90 minutes in altitude in Mexico City, before belting out the British rock classic, found himself struggling for words, breath and sound for his post-match media duties.

“I've just been singing, I can't really talk,” he told the BBC Sport reporter.
“The occasion, the team, everything against us, we found a way."

Fans on social media found the skipper’s new squeaky voice hilarious, with one account comparing him to Mickey Mouse and other suggesting he sounds like he has smoked 50 cigarettes.
Asked about the fans, Kane added: "Incredible, unbelievable support. [I'm] speechless."
