Harry Kane reacts to Liverpool loss as Tottenham Hotspur Champions League chances rated

Harry Kane believes fourth place is an attainable aim for Tottenham Hotspur after their win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

Bouncing back from their midweek Champions League exit, Spurs defeated Forest 3-1 on home soil to move six points clear of Liverpool in the Premier League standings. Hours before this victory, the Reds lost to Bournemouth in disappointing circumstances and must now get back on track to make up ground on Antonio Conte's side.

As has been the case for much of the season, aside from Arsenal and Manchester City, few teams have shown strong consistency levels and this has resulted in a wide-open chase for the Champions League places.

Liverpool missed the opportunity to heap further pressure on Tottenham, who were booed by their own supporters after being knocked out of Europe. And Kane, who scored twice against Forest to make it 20 Premier League goals for the season, is of the view his team are in control of their destiny as regards their final league position.

“Yeah, fourth is definitely there to be had. Obviously with Liverpool dropping points today as well we capitalised on that,” he told SpursPlay. "There’s going to be a lot of chopping and changing from now until the end of the season so we just have to be ready and try to take our moments when they come.”

The Reds do have one game in hand on Spurs, which could see them reduce the points deficit back to three, and the two sides will meet at Anfield on April 30 - a fixture that could have huge implications on who will be competing in Europe's elite competition next term.
