Harry Judd says performing in West End show Rip It Up is 'much harder than being in McFly'

McFly drummer Harry Judd has said performing in West End show Rip It Up is harder than being in a band.

The 33-year-old, who lifted the Strictly glitterball trophy in 2011, has danced in the Sixties-themed show since February.

He told A List: “It really is [full on] … It is physically demanding and exhausting.”

He added: “It is so much harder than being in a band.”

Judd, who shot to fame with McFly’s debut single Five Colours In Her Hair in 2004, has two children with his wife Izzy, 35.

He is supporting WaterWipes’ campaign #ThisIsParenthood and said parenting brought the “torture of no sleep” but “magic moments” were worth it.

“When your little one just holds your hand walking up the street, or randomly says ‘I love you, Daddy’ — it is the small things, the magic moments.”

The #ThisIsParenthood project aims to inspire self-belief in parents after research revealed half of parents globally feel like they are failing in their first year of parenthood. In partnership with mums, dads and BAFTA nominated director Lucy Cohen, the project aims to normalise and encourage more open and honest conversations about parenthood.
