Your simian digger was chuckling along to the ITV teatime staple – which has been revolutionised by the large-collared comedian’s arch voiceover – when he could have sworn he heard a dig at his former agent.
Roughly halfway through, over a clip of an ugly looking bulldog making a horrible noise, Hill – in full almost-audible-arched-eyebrow mode – said: “He sounds like my old agent when I told him I was giving him the boot. Oh hang on: it is my old agent!”
Could that be Avalon’s Jon Thoday, with whom Hill split – reportedly due to “creative differences” – in 2011? Perish the thought. Saturday’s show was a repeat, so the jibe may have been made when the “differences” were more recent.
