Harry Cavan Youth Cup final: Linfield Rangers see off St Oliver Plunkett at Windsor Park

Linfield Rangers celebrated more glory in the Harry Cavan Youth Cup on Monday night.

The young Blues defended their crown with a convincing 4-1 victory over St Oliver Plunkett at the The National Football Stadium.

Goals from Ross Weatherup, skipper Jake Corbett and Graham Kennedy had Linfield 3-0 up by half-time.

Colm McVeigh added a fourth before Michael Mervyn bagged a consolation for Plunkett.

The showpiece final is for Under 19 clubs and players and was first contested in 1952.

Linfield beat Cliftonville Strollers 2-0 last year to lift the trophy for the 17th time.

Now they have their 18th title tucked away in the trophy cabinet.
